OK, I was pretty well set that Peyton would be MVP, but after he such bad performances the past two weeks I was leaning back towards Priest Holmes. What do y'all think?

I think Jamaal Lewis. He's Baltimore's entire offense. Teams gear to stop him because they have no passing game, yet he still ran for 2000 yards. Without him, Baltimore would be terrible.

Holmes got lucky by scoring a lot of 1 yard touchdowns, but didn't have a lot of 100 yard games. He benefited from having other offensive help.

Ray Lewis is the MVP and best football player, period. I can't stand the guy, but he clearly wills his team to win more than anyone else in the NFL. Not even close.

I don't think Jamal Lewis is a bad pick, but I don't agree with your criteria for Priest. I think if you are looking solely at Priest's rushing yards, you are missing the point on his value. He had over 100 total yards (receiving AND rushing combined) in 14 of 17 games this year. In those 3 "other" games, he had 98 yards, 77 yards and the 55 yards in the season finale that meant nothing and he left early. He totaled over 150 yards 6 times, and he scored multiple TD's in 10 games! What makes Priest so valuable is his immense versatility, in the rushing and passing game, and not just his scoring numbers.

With that said, I think of all the candidates listed above, they all had more to work with than Jamal Lewis. For him to put up numbers with almost no passing game balance is amazing. It's also a tribute to his skills, as well as his offensive line. Earlier this year, I was on the McNair bandwagon, and he's still a deserving candidate. However, I think the 2 missed games will hurt him. All in all, I have no problems with any of those candidates winning the MVP for this year.

It's a very tough choice this year. I think it's a given one of the QB's will win it. It's hard to ignore Peyton Manning throwing 4,000 yards and nearly 30 touchdowns. At the same time it's hard to ignore Tom Brady leading his team to 14 wins. Steve McNair hasn't put up the same stats as those guys but has played unbelievable despite being hurt.

Right now i'm still leaning toward Peyton Manning but if he loses against Denver then my vote will change.

I say screw both the Tennessee boys and give it to Priest Holmes. Did the NFL even notice he scored 27 Touchdowns? Of course they also Didn't notice Domanick Davis is 50 times better than Anquan Boldin and they also Didn't notice Craig Hentrich is about 1/3rd the punter that Shane Lechler is.

Screw the NFL, I'm sick of these morons.

I would've given the rookie award to Boldin over Davis myself.

As for NFL MVP it's a toss up.

Domanick Davis is ten times the player Anquan Boldin is. Consider Davis wasn't even the starter in Houston for the first month or so of the season and he still managed to rush for 1000 yards behind a barely average offensive line.

Boldin was the starter from day one, and really the only option for the Cardinals at WR. Believe me Boldin's stats are padded because Arizona sucks and had to throw all the time because they were behind in most every game they played. I just think it's stupid Davis didn't even receive a single vote.

Perhaps, but then consider that Boldin also didn't exactly have Joe Montana throwing to him, nor did he have a solid #2 WR to relieve some pressure off of teams wanting to double him. In addition, the running game didn't light teams on fire, so no one had to overcommit players in the box to stop Shipp or Emmitt.

I love DD, but I think that you have to give it to Boldin. After all, he set numerous rookie records at WR. I would've loved to see Dom Davis take it, but I have no qualms about Anquan getting the award. I'll take solace in the fact that the Texans will be worth a damn soon, while all 'Zona can thrive in is that spoiler role they played nicely on Sunday. :)

I'm Not Saying Boldin is absolute ****, I just think Domanick deserved at least a couple votes.

I agree with you on that moe, Davis did show a lot with what he did and did deserve some votes.

I say give it to Priest.

He's the best player, on the best offense in the game. He's dominant in the passing game, and running game. And the whole thing where he scored more touchdowns than anyone ever has before in one year.

I think Jamal should get the award. The Ravens would be dead in the water with out him.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those players. I vote for McNair just because I think he's been THE BEST player in the game this year. He's a gritty, tough, WINNING player who holds together a team with mediocre offensive players and makes them great.

Speaking of Mediocre Offensive Players - Trent Green threw for over 4,000 yards this season. His recieving corp outside of Priest(who lead the Chiefs with 74 receptions) contained Tony Gonzales, and a bunch of crap - by which I mean Eddie Kennison, Johnnie Morton and Dante Hall(return heroics notwithstanding - not a good reciever).

How does that offense work? Priest Holmes makes it work.

I wouldn't say Eddie Kennison or Johnnie Morton are crappy receivers -- they're average at best, I agree. Tony Gonzalez is so far and away the best TE in the game, it's not even close. Priest is what makes the Chiefs go, but I still think McNair is a more valuable player to his team. McNair has no running game, no TE, one GREAT receiver (D. Mason), and then a bunch of garbage.

Don't get me wrong -- I *LOVE* Priest. He made my fantasy team what it was this year. He's good friends with a friend of mine from college. But I think Steve is THE key player on that Titans team -- without him, they're a below average football team.

I can definetly see where you're coming from re:McNair, but I think we're going to have to agree to disagree.
