Harden's career advanced stats in the playoffs are actually in the same ball park as those of Durant, Curry, Westbrook, Kyrie, Kawhi, (going further back) Wade, Iverson, Garnett and the infallible Kobe Bean Bryant. Chris Paul's numbers stand clearly a notch higher than those mentioned above, and measure favorably vs Tim Duncan's. Quote David Fizdale:"TAKE THAT FOR DATA". Three dudes that couldn't crack the group above? Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and worse yet, Paul Pierce. How about the legendary Klay Alexander Thompson? He is basically this decade's Michael Finley/Peja Stojakovic, and sits a tier below the Rip Hamiltons & Sam Cassels of the world.
I just want to state. Lebron James had a game many on here would classify as a "Harden" game. There is something to take from this. It happens to the best.
This. Let is see how the media reacts to this game compared to a bad harden game. That being said lebron has been amazing this play offs. So a bad game is logical. And no big deal.
And because Harden's playoffs this year is only second to Lebron's a bad game is illogical and a big deal https://www.basketball-reference.co...2stat=ast_per_g&c2comp=gt&c2val=7&order_by=ws
Stars get flack when they have low energy games, not because they are not scoring 35+ points a game. Shooting the ball poorly, turnovers and over all lethargically on the floor seems to be more common with stars these days. A perfect example is Lebron in Game 1 against Boston. He sat most of 4th quarter. At what point should a star sit and give up? True leaders will fight to the end. They don't let a 20 point 1st quarter deficit take them out of the game early on. BOS did well in neutering LeBron in the 2nd quarter to take the fight out of him early on. Houston is notorious for giving up those 1st quarter leads and giving their opponents hope. This signals to any team, whether they are at the bottom of the league or top, that a 20 point deficit with Houston means nothing. This is due to team leadership, which I do attribute to Harden.
Are you kidding me? It was practically career defining. It is the very definition of why people think James Harden is bad in the playoffs. If he never wins a Championship, that game will be his legacy.
That's silly. His team and coach wasn't good enough when it mattered and James didn't play worth a damn either. But a lot of Hall of Famers don't have a ring. Just the way it is.
I can't believe you're this naive. Let's see . . Colossal **** show performances in games that matter. I'm praying that he brings his 'A' tonight and play like we know he is capable of playing. You can only defend him so much.
No. If he never wins a chip, its on Morey and the Rockets for surrounding him with Ryno 2nd highest paid player/20% of the cap Pbev, Slou (none of them are playmakers), Dekker as the primary backup 3, Harrell as the primary backup 4, over the hill and injury prone Nene as the primary backup 5 Morey, Les, Tilman, MDA, & Cp3 know what the problem was and it was quickly resolved Max extension Cp3 joined Tucker joined LMM joined Les cashed out Tilman went in $2B you act like Harden owes you a ring or something
