We already know and it's well documented that Dwight has a private and public persona that can be quiet different just ask SVG.

Where in that entire segment did you get depressed?

I'm no Dwight Howard apologist, but I'm also no hater. He is what he is... but he usually speaks in that low tone. So I'm not sure where you got depressed from this interview.

Morey knew better than Dwight! It's good to see people positive about a video that's positive, but can we stop with the hypocrisy and call it like it is: we disliked Dwight for good reason and he refused to help in the way we SAW he could to get us to that trophy. His ego got in the way and he has been negative about us so it's not one-sided "hate". Dwight has a history of doing this too: being disrespectful and then respectful again, exactly to put himself in a favourable light. He wants to be a victim and he's actually a victim of his own behaviour.

I'm sure he's a good guy, fun to be around, but he's just not about winning at all costs and put himself first. I just cannot use revisionist glasses and say it's all good. Even if it allowed Capela to shine, truth remains we could've been better had Dwight accepted this role. So as a basketball player he's a disappointment, but as a person I have no ill will towards the man.

Capela's defense is light years ahead of Dwight, especially with the defensive scheme we have. Dwight's body is too stiff and there's no way he could stay in front of smaller guys like Capela does.

That was what made "prime" DH an amazing defensive center.

    My thoughts:

    1. Did I fall asleep and miss game 5? I mean, I knew we're up 3-1 here. And I think we'll win game 5. But what if we don't?

    2. I hope we don't lose and then have to wonder what would have happened if we had given Dwight Anderson's money and had his defense in our rotation instead of dragging Anderson around on the bench and chewing our fingernails watching Nene and Black drag us down.

(We would be a better team with Dwight and Kyle Wiltjer instead of Anderson and Black/Nene right now.)

Guess i'm referring to him saying he couldn't watch them if they won a championship - That tells me that he still like the guys on the Rockets - an maybe just maybe... if he lowered his ego a bit - he could have had more success with the team. Maybe im reading to much into it - but it seemed that his time here wasn't as bad a many thought

Dwight didn't want to be here and we didn't want him back. He didn't want to play the role Capela is now, he certainly wouldn't want to be his backup. And is something stopping us from signing Kyle Wiltjer? Last I heard he's unemployed.

OK...lets not get crazy... I am willing to concede that Capela has been much better defensively...and he still has room to grow as a player. But Dwight Howard in his prime was a freak. He could end teams just by being out there on the court. Prime Dwight carried a team to the finals.

This issue with Dwight isnt his talent, but rather his ego...His mindset of going out there and doing whatever it takes to win...was and is still NOT there. He still wants to achieve his glory days...The video highlights and provides insight into his thought process. He still believes he is the number one option...its why he suggested that Carmelo should be the teams closer, and Melo has more to offer the game as a starter. Superstar players need to rely on others for success...but when the team needs their superstars to shine...they have to. Dwight played well when he had too...but he never played well every day. This builds character...and without a consistentcy from your best players... it has a negative effect on the team. This is precisely why the Rockets got Ariza...a mature professional that plays hard every game regardless of the outcome. This year enter Chris Paul...he consistently provides his presence, eventhough he wasnt as dynamic as he has been in the past. Its why this pairing of Harden and Paul worked...Paul, understood his role and has done it marvelously. Add other consummate professionals like Tucker, Mbah...and the Rockets others are helping James' grow as a player as well.

The Rockets needed Dwight to be what Clint is today...then! He balked at that notion...and circumstances passed him up. As he now looks at the Rockets, he realizes that he could be doing what Clint is...and then some. His selfishness cost him success here, and perhaps the rest of his career.

Come on man, this is just false. Dwight was QBing our defense with players who had little to no interest in it.

If dwight was willing to play pick and roll and didn't demand post plays run for him with his terrible moves he would have been great here.

No it's not. Stop it. Both are great defenders but just because Capela's coming into his own defensively doesn't mean we should just diminish Dwight Howard. Every time they've played Dwight's pretty much owned him. Capela has the edge in other areas but defensively Howard's been dominating for YEARS

Dwight Howard is a good guy. I wish him nothing but the best. Michelle Beadle is a Colin Cowherd type. They make life less fun.

Clint is young. Dwight is in his 30s, staring down the prospect that he won't be dunking on many people as he ages. He just wanted to elongate his career with post ups. This is something Clint should be working on little by little as his career progresses.
