Interesting take from Dwight on the Rockets and James - Gave a lot of props to his old teammates - seemed like he felt that himself and James should have been in that position more than just in 2015 when they made the WCF with the Rockets. Seemed little depressed just at the thought of the Rockets having the chance to win a title

    Thoughts??

If it weren't for him not accepting his role as a PnR guy then we wouldn't enjoy Clint Capela's dominance right now. Thanks Dwight!

just curious, was Dwight able to guard perimeter players when they switched?

he didn't have the footwork that Clint has now but for those brief moments when he obliged and played the PnR game with Harden it was pretty damn good.

Very few centers throughout the history of the league have been able to do that. We are truly lucky that Clint is such a beast. Talk about elevating his game. Great stuff from Clint.

Very nice interview and good points by Dwight
    Well done

He seemed very complimentary of James. . . .
considering people said they hated each other.

he most definitely used to be able to. Let's not forget what Dwight was with Orlando. He even did it with the Rockets when we had to buckle down. Idk what he can do these days though. Haven't paid much attention to him.

he can still be effective if. he. just. accepted. reality.

if he could admit to himself that he's not an offensive force down low via post moves and just run PnR all day long, he could very well extend his career because his rebounding and defense is still solid.

Really too bad he declined physically, even if he accepted Clint's role I don't think he'd be as good as it due to his lack of explosiveness now. Was such a beast back in the day.

Clint Capela is about to get near max money for doing exactly what Dwight Howard was supposed to do:

    PnR
    Dunk Alley-Oops
    Block Shots
    Grab Rebounds
    No post up

He just couldn't get over his love for post up touches.

Now Clint is getting national praise. He's gonna get paid out the yin yang. And he has Hakeem courtside losing his mind everytime Clint dunks and blocks shots.

Dwight is/was talented, and no hate towards him. But Clint is just cut from a different cloth.
