Clearly, it's not for entertainment. Just as it says at the start of the video. This is not for the masses, it's for basketball players, who seeks to improve.

Wow, I was planning to just watch a few minutes, ended up watching the whole thing... Kobe's analysis is great.

As a youth coach and avid player I really enjoyed the clip. I really see why he was so great.

Because Mitchell is the type of dude to tweet out zipper emoji's after a Boston Crowd yells at Ben Simmons, "NOT A ROOKIE!".

Mitchell seems like a real humble guy, but he low-key loves the attention. He's a modest troll.

I liked it a lot. Do you guys have ADD or something? It’s illuminating to have a basketball genius share his knowledge

If we are able to be exposed by a Youtube video, perhaps we are meant to be exposed then.

Basically Harden is a PG version of Kobe and of course more efficient in scoring.

But Kobe knows these kinds of combo guards well.

The whole team has to watch it twice or more, not just Mitchell. And watch more tapes of others.

I am not a basketball junky, It moves fast and had to digest everything at full speed. I see why refs have a hard time. Watching ALL the videos posted on here and the like make BB lot more entertaining.

It makes me appreciate Ariza more.

    1. When Mitchell was trying to screen Ariza at the top of the key. Mitchell was all into TA when Crowder? started to come around. TA paused to bump Mitchell then took a step back to all PJ to come through, then re-engaged and almost got the steal.

    2. Another Mitchell screen where TA just bodies him up and pushes him backwards to make it harder/longer for the ballhandler to go around and easier for the defender to come around under.

During again, I tend to watch the ball and miss most the good stuff off the ball.

Very insightful video from one of the all time greats. Hearing Mitchell ‘s response on the video has me anxious for tonight’s game. Hopefully, the refs will let them play and not stop the action as Kobe eluded to.

Doubtful the Rockets will be able to shoot 51% again from 3...still think the Rockets will defend home court and pull out another win.

    Come on 7pm!!!

I agree that the video could use something in the background when Kobe is just watching/analyzing. I thought my speakers had some issue for a min there.

    Couple of take aways:
    -Kobe really respects Ariza
-Ariza pushing Capela into Mitchell was awesome
-Kobe expects all players to be as great as he was, which sorts of brings to the front why the GOATs dont make good coaches in general. Case in point, "Gobert needs to turn around and seal his man at this point". WTF?!? Is he expecting Gobert to suddenly become Dream or Kareem, and actually sky hook?
-If you are Utah, stay on your feet!
-Capela, turn around and know where the ball is

    Great video, thanks for sharing!

I think the two biggest take away from the rockets perspective (outside of how good our defensive scheme is) is ariza and his importance and capela still having ways to learn and grow.

We dismiss ariza quite a bunch around here but What we don’t fully understand is rotations, assignments and scouting reports.

Bodying Mitchell to prevent a screen being set is a defensive tactic coaches likely notice and love but we as fans just don’t recognize. Him knowing what play is coming and seeking it out before it starts and prevents it is of the same ilk.

This is amazing detail he provides that makes him so valuable even if he isn’t athletic and quick as he once was. He’s smart with a high iq and it’s clear he has great communication in a switch everything scheme that when he sticks with Donovan and doesn’t switch their isn’t an error or missed rotation/assignment.

As for capela, he’s obviously been great. He’s much better defending the rim and he’s quite good on the perimeter. He’s not fouling as much and has gotten really good at going straight up when contesting shots.

But in transition he does need to turn his body and get into a back pedal sooner and spot the ball. Everyone else is turned towards the offense except Clint but I think it’s something he can easily learn and adjust.

The first time I feel like I can be as good as or even be better than Kobe on basketball!

@LorneMalvo isn't in here yet saying the defense is trash? Kobe says its good too. Must be a conspiracy.
