From the "Remember Me?" files, Brett Oberholtzer signed a minor league deal with the Rockies after starting the year with the Owls of the Two Laredos in the Mexican League.
Los Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos started splitting their home games on both sides of the river again this year. It think that's pretty cool. eta: I went to one game on the Mexican side way back in the 80's. Dad and the guys and little me had been down there doing preseason work on our deer lease and took a day off to cross the border. I remember the fans being crazy fun and it being hot as **** in early September.
Luhnow has done good with most trades, but I'm sure this is one he'd like to have back. Not only was Gomez a disaster during his time here, Hader was pretty much the only certified left-handed pitching prospect in the farm. A real bummer.
We won a World Series. IdI love to have Hader, but it's a butterfly effect. No telling what changes if we don't make that deal.
He threw one pitch that landed a legit foot in front of home plate and the hitter swung at it. Those guys were not seeing his pitches well.
That deal landed us the guy who led the 2017 team in innings... despite the fact that he deservedly didn't even make the playoff roster. Fiers did a great job keeping the ship afloat when we had the SP injury bug. No telling what trickle down on bullpen usage if he doesn't manage to find that couple month stretch of productivity. Edit: But, yes... there's probably no better roleplayer fit on this team than Hader.
Why bother watching games when you can look at the stats. They speak for themselves. Especially the he swung at a ball that landed a foot in front of home plate stat.
Tyler Clippard so far... 4-0 18.1 IP 1.47 ERA .927 WHIP... Imagine if we actually used him in the playoffs last year... we would have ... oh wait, we did win the World Series
