    Agree..., but would add that she told you she'd go out on another date multiple times, each time cancelling.

    Funny, but also true? JRRM reacted fairly bluntly when told that many of his fans were concerned that he might die before he finishes the series (he said 'f&ck them'), but I think it's a real possibility. And anybody else finishing it isn't going to be the same.

    FWIW, I get all the other stuff he's busy with. It's new, its fun, its exciting, and its probably a lot more lucrative. Much better than burying yourself in a typewriter for months on end. Doesn't keep me from being frustrated that he doesn't finish the books, though.

    You know, if he'd rather spend his time with HBO, making millions of dollars, hobnobbing with Hollywood stars and getting laid than writing this series, more power to him. Finishing writing the series is probably still more important to him than reading the series is to me. If he never finishes it, life will go on. He's a good writer, but it's not exactly The Last Tycoon.
