Harden went 7-10 on contested shots in the third quarter

well he is playing in a very good system and he plays against the bench quite a bit.....also helps having a guy called Harden going nuts next to you as well. He has been up there the last few years, i will give you that, but his 6.9 is actually pretty low compared to previous seasons. Lowest in 5 years to lead that stat. A superstar to me is a flat out winning machine, a guy that can get you 40 on any given night

Ok. But he was a superstar, past tense.

So I'm sure you don't view Magic Johnson as a superstar?

He's a PG. A PG can only elevate his team so much. When your teammates are the super choker Griffin and the wholly depndent on you Deandre Jordan, winning in the postseason is hard.

Year, after year, after year he is at the top of the on/off numbers. His RPM this year is only lower because of Harden, there's no fall off because Harden is equally awesome. Very few players have the 2 way on court impact that Chris Paul does. If you don't consider him a superstar, then you better only have 3 or 4 people that you consider superstars.

All you heard is it was too easy for Harden....

Versus the constant announcment of his shooting in the first half...they loved to add a number to every miss....Harden now 0-5 now 0-6...now 0-7 now 1-8...3 of 13.....lol.

Firstly Chris Paul is no Magic Johnson and never has been, He isn't as talented as Magic so don't even try to go there. I never said anything against a position at all.......people keep bringing that up.

I have listed my Superstars before.......LeBron, Durant, Harden, Anthony Davis is borderline becoming one because he finally won a playoff series and needs to stay healthy. I don't believe there are many Superstars in the league at all, there are a lot of stars. A superstar to me is a player you can put on any bad team and instantly lift them to a top 4 seed or higher straight away.

also on/off numbers are a bit of an over rated stat again because when the star goes off the court, usually the stars on the other team do as well and it is mostly bench vs bench

Which Chris Paul has done 7 straight seasons. Any team with Chris Paul on it is instantly good.

The Pelicans went from good to crap. The Clippers went from crap, to great, back to crap. The Rockets went from great to dominant. No player aside from LeBron has had this stark a correlation to team success as Chris Paul.

Rest of West be scared of the Rockets?

Max: Trick question? Of course. Rockets haven't played one good game in the playoffs & beat the brakes off the TWolves last night. They're seeded where they're seeded because of Butler's injury. When you look at that team, KAT-Butler-Wiggins-Teague, that's a loaded team. They are coming up in the world & a top half bracket team. They're playing the Rockets well, the Rockets are playing poorly & you're looking up and it's a 20 point game. When the Rockets start actually playing well, the Western Conference is a wrap.

The CENTRAL QUESTION: are the Rockets now fully awake, are they out of their stupor and ready for playoff basketball? It won't take long to get an answer.

Max has this on point. The pubs are not your typical #8 playoff opponent in that they have pretty good talent. They are just being overwhelmed by better talents in Harden and CP3.

Also, he is also correct that we haven't been closed to playing on a consistent basis, something that hopefully gets corrected as the team regains it's competitive edge. It is looking better and better for the good guys. The team just needs to be constantly reminded it that it all starts on defense.

Last time i checked, Paul hasn't been a top 4 seed 7 seasons in a row.....5 seasons in a row yes....but no Conference Finals

Any team with Chris Paul isn't instantly good, it has to have at least one other star on it

Hopefully defensively they're out of their stupor. They've been really good at that end of the floor in this series aside from the 2nd half of Game 3(and guarding Derrick Rose for whatever reason).

The offense will have its ups and downs. The key there is to take care of the ball and have at least 2 or 3 guys a game outside of Harden and CP3 who are making open shots.
