Do you not realize that they aren't just going to start revealing exactly what adjustments they intend to make in post game interviews?

"Well they start out icing the PnR but we're going to get the ball out of my hands early to avoid them stunting into a trap, but make sure you don't tell Thibs about this video, that answer is for your ears only *insert random national reporter*"

That’s been the story around here for a long time, but I have never seen the source. Maybe Jimmy was just in a bad mood when someone asked him about it before. I saw him once at a junior college game in Tyler, TX, where he played before transferring to Marquette. Thought it was neat he came back to watch a game.

 

See this is why interviews are the way they are. There’s a middle-way, so not the extreme of “work hard” or “we’ll be fine”, but just an honest answer which any person can see:

“We need to start off with a sense of urgency, make a statement since we’ve been down early in every single game and that cannot happen if we want to win the trophy, commit to playing defense for 48 minutes, get our shooters easy shots” for example.

 

There's no point in giving marginally less general answers like that.

Who does it help? Paranoid fans that want the players to be as demonstrably outraged as they are?

The players need to use their mental energy to actually execute, not to try and navigate a pointless minefield of media questions.

 

I wanna see the team play like a number 1 seed ready to take the title from an all star heavy GSW.

It shows you care, reflected on the game and sincerity. Players do give these kinds of answers though rarely. LOL @ thinking it uses mental energy and takes away anything.

@Remlap Raptors and Warriors dominated for 2 and 3 games respectively. Of course it happens, but going back to Houston 2-2 would not be a good sign given how we’ve played.

I’m not counting on it, but we could lose a game 5 at home and be down 3-2 seen as we almost lost game 1. Just making a point that a series can slip away from you.

 

Gotta blow these tpups out. Can’t have a close game going to the 4th. Refs will swallow the whistle.
