Problem #1: Steve Francis (can't pass, turnovers, can't make easy shots)

Solution: Trade Steve Francis + Nachbar to Memphis for J Will, Battier, and Swift...Memphis will not keep on playing with a 10 man rotation, francis will instantly improve their offense...

Problem #2: Cato will not work at the 4 (can't play 4 vs 5 all the time)

Solution: Trade Cato + Cat to Indiana for Foster + Harrington + tinsley...now we have a hard nosed player in foster who can shoot the ball and also harrington will be a monster soon...Indiana probably won't pass up the oppurtunity to get a big man OR trade Cato + Moochie to NY for Thomas + ward + doleac...now we have a point guard and the 4 that we need...

    C: Ming
    PF: swift, Foster
    SF: Harrington, Jackson
    SG: Battier, Pike
    PG: J Will, Tinsley

    OR

    C: Ming, Doleac
    PF: swift, Thomas
    SF: Jackson
    SG: Battier, Pike
    PG: J Will, Ward

    Not bad eh???

Do you think anyone in that organization wants Steve Francis? They are probably a few people left from that draft day.

Given the way we're playing, I'd take Houston Grizzlies any day of the week and twice on sundays.

Give me some reasons why you wouldn't take one of those rosters from the trades...

JWill can't play defense and doesn't show up for big games.

Slowmile doesn't have the right work ethic. He can't even start on the Memphis team that needs exactly what Slowmile is expected to bring.

    Battier would be duplicating JJ.

And you want to trade our best player for a bunch of marginal starters at best.

Cat and Cato is too much for what we would get back from Indiana. Believe it or not, Cato is a nice commodity. I bet he would be starting on about 75% of the teams out there. Cato and O'neal in Indiana would be a good duo! I would do a Cato for Harrington deal straight up though!(+ salaries to match) But, if I am trading with Indiana, I would definitely be asking for Artest!

Battier is 6'8...jackson is 6'5...and plus battier can pass a lot better and is a better shooter...can also defend better and is a smarter player overall

J Will is probably the 2nd best passer in the whole league...this guy doesn't show up for big games???...we don't need his scoring, just need his ability to pass and he can do that on a consistant bases...his defense is not THAT bad...i KNOW it's better than steve's

Swift is not getting minutes because...HE CAN'T PLAY CENTER!!!...this guy is listed at 6'9...he's probably around 6'8...so he's be a real good 4 for the rockets...and you said he doesn't have the work ethic??? you are WRONG! remember his first year? this guy was a worse shooter than eddie, but now he has a decent shot from 15...and he can block shots too...just too skinny and short to play the 5...memphis has gasol...why they need swift?? he'd be a perfect fit....

Not bad -- if you don't mind beginning from scratch with a starting lineup that is 80% new. Give them a few years to gel together, and who knows? We might make the playoffs by '05 or '06.

Do these trades work salary-wise? They sound good, but what do the numbers look like?

He can pass better? He can shoot better? Defend better? Is that why he is on the bench? Is that why they traded for Bonzi? Is that why they traded for Miller? Is that why they signed Posey? Ya, you're right. Offensively, he is better than JJ. But, we aren't giving up JJ in your proposal. We're giving up Francis!

J Will is probably the 2nd best passer in the whole league...this guy doesn't show up for big games???...we don't need his scoring, just need his ability to pass and he can do that on a consistant bases...his defense is not THAT bad...i KNOW it's better than steve's

He might look good with the no-look passes but he isn't the 2nd best passer in the game. Not even close. Not showing up for the big game means his balls shrink up when there is any pressure, his head would explode if he had to run this team.(scoring is only part of it and who the heck told you we wouldn't need his scoring?) His defense is terrible. You think Steve gets torched, well at least Steve tries now! That guy loafs on half of the plays. You think Steve takes bad shots, JWilliams takes 38 ft 3 pointers with 18 seconds left on the clock. The proof is in the results. Look how much better the Kings are now without your boy!

Oh, I guess Wright or Gasol can play center since they take his minutes. I guess "Slowmile" is something I came up with. What exactly do you mean when you say he can't play center? He isn't even getting many minutes at the pf spot. You're explicit when you say he can block shots and you imply that he can rebound. Then why isn't he getting starter minutes. If he can do the things you say he can, then why would Memphis want to trade him? You're right about one thing. He would get along well with this team. His low IQ would fit with the rest of the players we have.

Yes every player has weaknesses...if you give up steve and get these 3 back...we would be in a lot better shape...i don't have time to argue with you on the weaknesses of these players and steve but...

you had about 2 or 3 reasons why these guys are horrible...if thats the case then you'd probably have 10 reasons for steve...and he is the best player on the rockets??? he just SUCKS! i'm sure you watch every rockets game...there has not been a single game where steve hasn't done somethin stupid...

oh yeah to answer some of your questions....

    why isn't battier starting???

he can start on that team...its just that he is comparable to the other 3 players...

    j will takes bad shots...

okay this guy sometimes takes bad shots...but he does that like once every 2 or 3 games...so what if he takes a bad shot of 2??? steve's turnovers makes up for that...

why stromile doesn't get minutes at the 4???

you have gasol...thats why you play him for 38 minutes and leave 10 min at the 4 for swift...and why he isn't at center??? would you have wright at 6'11 245 or swift at 6'8 and 230???

We're going to have to disagree on this one. But, you don't give up a player like Steve (or Yao) for marginal players. I would trade Steve for the right deal in a heartbeat. I would want an All-Star calibur pf in return though! A Cato trade for an athletic starting sf I would look to do first. JJ should be coming off of the bench with Mo!
