I remember when we traded Kenny Lofton for Eddie Taubensee. I thought it was stupid then and looking back, it was such an awful trade.

    Joe Morgan/Jack Billingham/Ceasar Geronimo

    for

    Lee May/Tommy Helms/Jimmy Stewart

Another trade I couldn't stand was

    Lee Mayberry for Jim York

And who could forget the Mike Cuellar/Dave Guisti trades?

This. Steve Finley was also sent away in that deal, both Ken and Steve launched after that trade.

The Joe Morgan trade was bad for the Astros but good for Joe.

Wasn’t a trade but letting Nolan Ryan leave and play for the rangers really hurt deep in my soul.

Taylor Buchholz, Jason Hirsh, and WillyT for Jason Jennings.

Really, I'd have a hard time not going with Joe Morgan, since he was a HOFer.

Very underrated, arguably best trade in team history (only not because we wasted it) was Glen Davis for Schilling, Finley, & Harnish.

Probably when we traded Larry Andersen for some minor league prospect. Solid relievers don't just grow on trees, you know.

I hated that trade then and time has not softened my opinion of it. I absolutely adored Willy T and traded him to my 2k Team (or signed him off the scrap heap) for many years after.

I guess I'll have to settle for the guy that wears the #1 jersey now.

EDIT: It's not Joe Morgan or Curt and The Big Bopper, but I particularly loathed the Aubrey Huff for Zobrist (and Mitch Talbot I think?) trade.

EDIT 2: I'm very, very glad that when Curt Schilling comes up now-a-days, he is not referred to as "Former Astros Pitcher Curt Schilling..."

If we are judging trades by hindsight, shouldn't the worst trade be one that sent away prospects that turned into multiple future all-stars during a period that Astros went to the playoffs 4 times and the World Series once?

Yes and spent the money on Jim Clancy. Great job McMullin.

Talking about Randy Johnson deal? You could say similar about the Bell trade. We traded away a lot of talent in the 90s.

Almost nothing so far? Not that I wouldn't take back VV and Eshelman.

Was never a fan of Bell's until Dierker's seizure. I know you aren't suppose to hold down a person during a seizure, but considering environment, I think Bell did the right thing holding him.

    Trading for Tejada.

Basically prolonged the eventual down-cycle till the full tear-down/rebuild finally commenced.

The biggest ones in my opinion are:

    1) Joe Morgan
    2) Caminiti/Finley
    3) Schilling

I liked the Aubrey Huff trade when it happened, but it would've been nice to have Zobrist...

Has to be Joe Morgan deal. He left and just became legendary with the Reds.

Letting go of the farm for Randy Johnson didn't help either, but it didn't hurt us as we still fielded a competitive team. I would say any of those 2006-2010 trades were the next worse. We had no farm and we were trading for washed up vets trying to run the 2005 gravy train
