    One of the most important things Rockets do on defense is force the ballcarrier off the 3-point line and funnel him into the paint.

    It may seem at times that opponents are just blowing by our perimeter defenders, but this is by design.

    This technique allows multiple defenders to collapse upon a smaller area with added rim protection from Capela or Nene while our guards Paul and Harden swipe at the ball for easy steals and fastbreak opportunities.

    That's why Ariza and Tucker will always push their man to the middle and hand him off to Capela or the rotation defender.

    This is one of Bzdelik's best strategies. Concede the middle and the paint so the opponent gets off the 3-point line.

    Basically, give up a 2-point shot while you take all the 3s. It's simple math. Genius!
