As someone who was lucky enough to work with her and meet her through her charity works (Houston's Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation and the annual Celebration of Readings), I have to say the world will miss a strong-willed lady who strove to do well by her country and the countless people she helped through her charitable endeavors. (~$1 billion raised for literacy) In every interaction I had with her, she was kind, witty, sharp, and all class.
She came in to the book store I worked at when I was in high school and she was always one of the nicest people. Lovely woman, RIP.
She was a classy lady, and she did a ton of good work for literacy projects with children. She will be missed.
When I worked at IAH in Houston during my early college years, I was hurrying to my work area and almost ran into her. Considering she had a couple secret service agents with her that could have been bad, but she didn't notice thankfully as I halted just in time. Rip Mrs. Bush.
I knew very little about her personally She always seemed kind and classy I cannot say I ever heard a harsh word about her beyond an occasional comedian's quip. R.I.P. Ms. Bush Rocket River
Mrs. Bush handled every challenge George's career threw at her with aplomb. I suspect that she had a lot of influence with the President, but always in the background. It can't be overused here. Barbara Bush was a woman with class.
My dad just shared the photos and story when he and my sister’s youth group ran into the Bushes in Galveston, January ‘93, after he was voted out and Clinton was inaugurated. Bushes and security detail were in golf carts, and were visiting friends. They spent about 20 minutes chatting with the group and taking photos with the girls and the dads, and Mrs Bush went out of her way to make sure that each family with a camera got a picture on their devices. George ended the meetup by exclaiming that he was ready to go fishing! What an interesting moment in US history to get to be a fly on the wall! Amazing woman, Texan, First Lady, and First Mom Boy does this libtard miss the Bushes
The First Lady often was the butt of jokes for her appearance especially her white hair. Her hair turned completely white when she was only 28 and she went into a deep depression because her 4 years old daughter died of leukemia. I wonder if more people knew about this fact, would they still make fun of her appearance? RIP Mrs Bush...hope you are saved and in a better place.
Nope. "The white hair was because I wanted to play golf,'' she said. "I wanted to play tennis. I wanted to swim and my hair turned, as I'm sure someone else will tell you, orange, green, yellow, depending upon how much chlorine in the pool. So I decided to go white."
