To be fair to the Spurs, last year the Rockets beat the living crap out of them in game 1, everyone said we'd have an easy sweep, they're too old now, etc., and we know how that turned out. Not saying I think the Spurs are going anywhere - it wouldn't surprise me if they get blown out in every game - but you never can tell.
Warriors' starting lineup was pretty damn good. Decided to forget filling in positions and started their best 5, leaving out Quin Cook.
Warriors big starting lineup is arguably the best in the nba? McGee is a much better player than All Star Aldridge. Is he the arguably best big man in this year's playoffs?
It is pretty annoying that they wasted a playoff spot that could've gone to an up-and-coming team like the Nuggets. I get that Pop's thinking must've been that Kawhi would eventually rejoin the team and they'd make a deep run in the postseason, but it seemed pretty obvious weeks(if not months) ago that he quit on the Spurs and had no intention of playing again.
Spurs have the worst offense out of all 16 teams in the playoffs. Aside from LA no one can create their own shot effectively. This Spurs team has got to be worse offensively than any Portland playoff team that LA played on. All warriors have to do is aggressively defend him and the Spurs are screwed. Historically Spurs always had a great bench. But this year's bench of Parker, Manu, and Gasol is useless for the most part. They are way past their prime and look like corpses of their former self. Aside from LA, their 4 other starters would be bench players on any championship caliber team.
Spurs have a chance tonight if Rudy Gay becomes a starter. No Warriors can stop Gay. The best old man matchups in the nba history: Parker, Manu, and Gasol Iggy, Livingston, West All of them are hall of famers
I hope the Spurs can make this a good game unlike game 1 this series is the 1 I’m the least interested in...I wish Blazers-Pelicans was on tonight instead
