So we lose Luc and he signs a guard. Some things just baffle me. Why didn't he bring in a hot shooting forward from China instead?
This is for the 12th spot/scrub-time/emergency player because I don't think Zhou and Onuaku are it as they already have enough bigs. So it doesn't really matter, but I'm figuring this is just in case something terrible happens to CP3, EG, or Harden since those are the only playable ball handlers on the team.
That was a good interview, listened to it back when it came out. I like Dunc'd On but sometimes it's too long.
If this guy gets minutes that means CP3, Harden, and Gordon died in a horrific accident. So it really doesn't matter.
Or Rockets up by 30. I think the hate on Aaron Jax is a bit extreme, by all accounts he's the 3rd ball handler that many on CF have clamored for. Plus he's lights out from 3 and is a bull dog on D.
https://aqcgmsp.com/kings-beat-short-handed-rockets-96-83-in-season-finale/ Houston added a new player in Aaron Jackson, who spent the past seven seasons playing overseas. Jackson arrived just before game time and didn’t even have his name on the back of his No. 55 jersey, which had belonged to the recently released Tim Quarterman. Jackson scored eight points in 34 minutes. “It was surreal. I was at a hotel with my girlfriend for her birthday, then my agent called and said, ‘How fast can you get to the airport? You’re playing with the Houston Rockets for the rest of the season,'” he said. “I packed my bags as fast as I could. Hopefully I can do whatever it takes to try to help them win a championship.”
We've reached the point where we argue about whether it's more wise to sign a 7th choice perimeter guy or a 6th choice big man. Corinthian leather seats in here.
Of the 14 playoff eligible Rockets before this addition, 7 of them are centers or power forwards - they weren't signing another.
He looked pretty comfortable facilitating the basketball with guys he has never played with before...hopefully he gets some playing time.
I don't expect him to get any playing time unless it is a blow out or there is an injury situation. BUT, he looked "confident" and looked like he belonged and could create his own shot etc. Which is way more than we really got with Quarterman and Weber. Improvement at the margins, but those things count too.
