Good job Axeman! Don't let these sad boys get the better of you.

What you've done here is un-Texan but not un-American. There's always some place for you to go live.

    QUESTION AXEMAN:

You say you are not patting yourself on the back

WOULD YOU HAVE BROUGHT THIS BACK UP IF YOU WERE WRONG?

You wanted to show you 'superior' analysis
    skills. . . .

ALSO . . let me rebutt something here

'All those teams have the same go to guys with good role players around them, and in some cases, even better (see San Antonio and Portland and arguably LA after adding JR Rider and Horace Grant). How the heck are the Rockets, with Kid Francis, Cat and Mo Taylor going to crack that lineup, without some major injuries to key players???'

What is funny . . .we would have cracked
the line if WE DIDN'T HAVE MAJOR INJURIES

Funny you had no faith in this team
you felt the only way we make the
playoffs is to have some other players hurt
but major injuries to our own team
is the only thin preventing us from
    making the playoffs.

    Hakeem - MAJOR INJURY
Collier -YES it makes a difference
Cato - yes . .. to and extent a difference
Mo- in these last few games could have been
the difference between making it and not

    1. We still can make it. . . .
You analysis of this team was WAY WRONG
the results *may* be right but you analysis
    was wrong.

    Mo has improved
Francis is now making good decisions
    Cat is a STUD
you didn't add the Moochie Factor
Hakeem was the 3rd best center in the second
half of the season if not for his injury

    as for those you predicted
LA - Shaq / Kobe <-- self destructing
Portland - Steve Smith / Rasheed Wallace <-- self destructing
San Antonio - Tim Duncan / David Robinson
Phoenix - Googs and Hardaway WHAT NO KIDD?
Seattle - Payton PUL LEASE Gary is a cancer now
Utah - Stockton and Malone (as usual)
    Sacramento - Chris Webber
Minnesota - Kevin Garnett and Terrell Brandon AND THEY STILL MAY NOT MAKE IT

    So in closing Axeman
    This was a brag
    This was also QUITE WRONG

    Rocket River
    TOO THE PLAYOFFS

Since we're bringing up old threads and gloating about them, take a look at this one Axeman. I find it appropriate for this thread.

    http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/010503.html

    For ingenious topics, add

"I'm going to start a thread where I congratulate myself for predicting that the Sun will rise tomorrow and that 2 will come after 1, then defend myself and say I wasn't gloating when people start attacking me"

Thing is, you are actually happy, not that the Rockets being left out of the playoffs, but that you were right in predicting the obvious. I bet that the over-whelming majority of us knew that at the beginning of the season the Rocks' playoff chances were slim in an ultra-competitive Western Conference. But we still held out hope that the Rocks could make it. I for one declare this season a COMPLETE SUCCESS, considering preseason expectations. The Rocks are a MUCH better team than last year, and with a few more players, will continue to improve.

Consider that a prediction for next year.

But unlike you, don't look for me to start a thread to gloat about it WHEN it comes true!

    Axeman:

You were basically lucky. The Rockets aren't going to make the playoffs yes... but it's really pretty bizarre that a team 5 or 6 games above .500 is excluded. If anyone had told me that hte Rockets would win this much, and not make the playoffs, I'd have laughed at them.

The West was good beyond belief this year. That hurt us.

BTW, it ain't over quite yet [IMG].

Axeman, you weren't the only one who predicted the Rockets were lottery bound. You're just an arrogant prick about it. DaDakota and I have said we thought the team was a year away.

You make the Rockets sound like a BAD team. Inconsistent, yes. But bad ? No, they're over .500 and are in playoff contention.

Even if you are right, you're a dip**** for gloating about it.

I predicted Vince Carter would average over 25 ppg this year, am I asking for praise ?
