    Well, I think it's spyware.

Here lately I have been having an excessive amount of pop-ups, slower load times and my home page keeps changing.

I did a google search for spyware and the symptoms above were listed on some of the sites. There are a whole bunch of sites that offer detection and removal of spyware/adware.

Are they all good or are some of them bad?
    Are they free?

I was thinking about trying "Spybot-spyware.com". Has anyone tried it and if so does it work? Or is there any others that are better?

    Thanks for any help.:)

Adaware from lavasoft works really well and they have a great forum for support, etc. - anything dangerous to your computer is discussed in here...

Adaware seems to be the best on the go these days. New version detected 148 spyware apps on my computer four days ago (259 on my sister's machine).

the only spyware, adware remover you will ever need...

    Spybot Search & Destroy

download, install, open, check for updates, then run the program... spybot should be searching for 11,000+ instances of spyware!

    end of story. good luck.

    Agree 100%

AdAware is a little dangerous for the novice user, it will kill important registry entries. I still like it and sometimes run Spybot and AdAware together.

I highly recommend Hijackthis as well because it is a Roto-Rooter for your computer. I used it and now my computer is free from all that spyware crap.

Senior Members to the rescue. :D

    Thank you everyone.

I ended up using Spybot Search & Destroy. rockHEAD's sales pitch sold me. ( I know, I'm a sucker.)

    I had a 116 problems.

Thanks again to everyone. I didn't know what to read on "KingCheetah's" link. (Drinking a little)

I got scared with "The Real Shady's" link. (It said, "Intended for advanced users."

One more thanks and a Merry Christmas. :)

I'd use Spybot w/ Ad Aware..I use both, and my system is pretty clean.
