Don't Honk at Me Bro [Public Service Announcement]

All you people driving rent free on my roads can just keep on honking at me. I'm the most benevolent owner of all roads you'll ever meet. But when I'm coming into what you think is your lane, you better move your ass over, or my big 'ol truck will do the job for you.

 

How often are you getting honked at? Are you texting? Are you driving so aggressively that it is reckless and dangerous? Does aggressive driving include stuff like passing people on the shoulder or trying illegally to cut off a line of stopped cars on the highway at the absolute last second from a wide open exit only lane off-ramp?

I honk at people but I only honk at dangerous stuff like merging onto the highway going way too slow or just downright selfish BS like people trying to "cheat" when it is actually illegal (not talking about zipper merging), texting on the highway or blocking intersections because their light turned yellow and traffic was backed up and they didn't want to wait. People screwing up the flow of traffic because they are selfish a-holes really gets under my skin.

 

I get honked at all the time by worry warts when I split traffic. I don't care but it does confuse me. Like, you can either sit in your car, honk at me or better yet try to block me from doing something that doesn't change your position at all. If you are jealous of me splitting ride a motorcycle yourself.

It is less dangerous for me but people can't seem to mind their own business. FYI blocking never works.

 

I don’t know. I’ve seen that a lot of times. And I’ve almost always gotten to the point where I’m about to get angry. But then, I ultimately pass them up and dont get pissed.

What ends up being true in almost all the instances I’ve seen that, when I pass them up, it is some 75-80 year old person. Often times with a handicap tag on their vehicle.

You could have run someone like that into the guard rail.

That would be pretty ****ed up.

 

City drivers scare the hell out of me, mostly. Not scared, I suppose, but they make me nervous. Country drivers generally know what they are doing.

What really throws a monkeywrench into things is when the city people come out into the country. It's a cluster****. They'll tailgate trailers, signal 16 seconds before making a right turn off of the highway, drive through a herd of deer or cows on a county road and never slow down, pull out right in front of someone going downhill at 70mph. God bless 'em, but you can't help stupid.

 

City drivers for the most part are fine.

It’s the damn suburban drivers that are the issue.

 

Keep in mind that this is the same poster who wants to know how everyone cleans their butts. Also the same guy that posted this....

I never noticed anyone honking at me because my music is usually too loud. I do get people that come up behind me flashing their lights wanting me to move when the other lane is clear and they can just as easily go around me.

 

I wasn’t serious.... it is a repeat of a post years ago.
