Sorry! I have just haven't seen a thread around here lately on them from the regulars. We beat NYG 19-3 and we are going to the playoffs!! That's a helluva lot more fun than being 5-11! It's a good day for Cowboy fans! Come on, now. You got to give us some kudos. OMG...I just saw the craziest game ending touchdown for the Saints playing the Panthers. I wonder if it holds up? Laterals galore and backward passes galore! Anyway, go Cowboys! 10-5 and sitting pretty.
LOL! The Saints tie the game on a long shot crazy game ending touchdown play at the end of regulation and then their field goal kicker misses the extra point!!! GAME OVER!!! HAHA!!! I'm feeling the Saints blues. Go boyz!
I don't like them, but they are one hell of a story, so I will probably root for them. Imagine the crazy scenario of the Titans versus the Cowboys in Houston for the superbowl. That wold be messed up.
My computer has been having some problems the past few weeks, so I haven't been able to post Cowboy threads. Considering the past two games, I may continue the trend. The Cowboys have had a great year. I was happy when I heard Parcells takes his team to the playoffs in the second year, so getting there this year is great. If it wasn't for the great play of the Eagles after the slow start, the Cowboys may have won the division. I think it may still be mathmatically possible to win it, but the Eagles would have to collapse for that to happen. The coaches and FA's that the team brought in really made a big difference in the team. Campbell and Anderson are both helping out the offense big time, and guys like Flozell and Dat are having awesome years. I hope they can keep improving (GO IMPROVEMENT!) and possibly do some things in the playoffs. QC and Hambrick will need to step up for that to happen, though. Maybe if we played a Giant-Redskin hybrid team in the playoffs, QC would have a 112 QB rating and Hambrick would be getting 150+yds a game instead of 30. It would be pretty crazy if the Cowboys could make it back to Reliant Stadium. It would be pretty strange considering what happen the last time they played on that field in a big game. (yes...I unfortunately still remember.) The Saints game was pretty crazy. I just hope they don't feel like winning next week...I'm sure I can count on that. Man oh man, I wish Bryant would have caught that pass from Anderson. That was a pretty play, IMO. He probably throws as well as QC.
As I've said before, both texas teams have far exceeded my expectations. Most likely the boys will be booted in the 1st round, but unlike basketball, the less talented teams have a much better shot at the upset. I'd like to say I know they'd storm to the bowl, but these past few years of Cowboy and Rocket ball have really tempered my optimism. I can say that I feel confident with Q as the starter if we get a good to great rb. If we can't get a quality rb, then we need a much better qb. Also need more beef in the middle. If they can get said players I think they'll be in the playoffs again next year, barring injuries. I think the Texans will also be fighting for a playoff spot next year, barring injuries and bad luck, but I don't know if they'll make it in since there are a lot of teams in the AFC that should be fighting for the wildcard.
Quick question. If Philly loses next week and Dallas beats New Orleans, how will they decide who is the winner? I believe the first tiebreaker for division winner after head to head is common conference opponent record (I could be wrong), which would tie them with one loss a piece (Dallas to Atlanta and Philly to Washington). What's next? Am I completely off?
Two Clubs 1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs). 2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division. 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games. 4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. 5. Strength of victory. 6. Strength of schedule. 7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. 8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. 9. Best net points in common games. 10. Best net points in all games. 11. Best net touchdowns in all games. Baltimore & Cinci could go down to tie breaker #5 I believe. I kind of wish two teams would have identical seasons such that all 11 tiebreakers would be equal to see what would happen!
I just looked at the standings. And if the cowboys win and the eagles loose next week. I think dallas will get a bye. Now that would be really crazy. If dallas could get that and heal some of those wounds. You never know what could happen.
It's nice to enjoy watching the Cowboys play again, especially since they are complete underdogs, humble, and happy to just have made the post season. Also way to go B. Cundiff 13 fantasy points today!
The Cowboys have a great chance to win a playoff game. Assuming the Eagles beat the Redskins, the Cowboys will be at Carolina, Minnesotta or Green Bay, all games thay could go either way. Beating the Rams or the Iggles on the road would be quite a longshot. The Cowboys are a dangerous team. They probably have the best defense in the NFC left with Tampa out. Still, I think they are at least 1 year away--their offense just isn't a big challenge. The Cowboys are missing a McNabb, Faulk or Moss from being a truly elite team, but what progress a year makes.
the cowboys can probably beat the panthers and the vikings, but a road game in lambeau is near impossible. i know mike vick pulled that off last year, but if dallas has to go to green bay in january they are screwed.
