I remember Lawson was pretty marginalized in our offense. In the games I saw live I watched for him specifically and he pretty much played the "stand in the corner and let the boys go to work" role. Not defending him, his career decline fascinates me.
I'm just the opposite. I've tried to like beers and hard liquor just like any other man in the world but fell short and always loved the soda more often than not. Right now I'm thinking about Mountain Dew Code Red.
Ty Lawson can ball. I'm rooting for him. He had a great opportunity here but didn't seem very motivated and blew it. Had he given us 85% it would've worked, but ultimately turned out to be a failure
I didn't mean just drinking period, plenty of us have a drink on occasion, or don't and it really doesn't impact things. I'm talking about full blown alcoholism. It's an addiction like any drug addiction, and some people simply can't function well even after they have "beat" their addiction. Once they go down that rabbit hole they are never the same one way or the other.
It wasn't whether he was motivated or not. He has a very real problem with alcohol addiction. Before he can think about basketball, he needs to get his life in order.
This is a good way of describing addiction. Many people that have never lived it think it’s as easy as “stop drinking/taking drugs” and everything would be fine. That couldn’t be more wrong, as when you’re an addict, your life can be every bit as miserable even if you manage to get sober. It’s hell, to put it mildly.
