I'm not in shock. Hinch is a smart guy who is evolving as a manager and doesn't do 'typical' manager things. I'm more surprised Giles didn't get an inning in one of the previous 2 games.
I actually liked this win today: --Keuchel struggled early but found his groove and limited the damage --got runs across via scrappy play and timely hits/sacrifices --relief pitching was solid and Peacock proving that he can close out via multiple innings is an interesting development --Reddick is back! All the talk of him sucking is now forgotten --No Correa, McCann, Gattis (or Gurriel) and we still win --Great to win a close one! Keeps the guys on edge and shows they can win in many different ways! --Oh--and SWEEP BABY!!
Ive had my fair share of gripe towards Hinch this past season and it does indeed look like he is evolving as a manager; by not bringing in giles in a one run game.
