They're coasting. Remember the effort a week ago vs the Pelicans? Granted, New Orleans was tired, but the Rockets(sans CP3 and Luc) blew them out of the building. There was literally nothing to play for today and the Rockets acted like it. All that being said, I would play everyone on this upcoming homestand. These are 3 quality opponents, all of whom have something to play for. Get everyone back in rhythm and focused. Then rest guys against the Lakers and Kings to close out the regular season.
The sky is not falling. Rockets are #1. You, for some reason, are taking offense to fans wanting the Rockets to play well if they are going to play. What is the point of playing Harden 34 minutes if he is going to play like trash in a meaningless game? Don't play him then and save his legs. Harden will only show up if it matters. Rockets have failed enough in the playoffs after good seasons (great seasons from Harden) for fans to be understandably nervous. You thinking that the Rockets can just turn it on is putting faith in something that has never happened since Harden has been a Rocket. Rockets shouldn't be taking their position for granted. It doesn't hurt to play well until it becomes commonplace.
I mentioned that earlier in the thread. I'm honestly ok with this loss. The Spurs must not be the 8th seed. Even without Kawhi, that would be a terrible first round matchup. The Rockets would win the series, but Pop would pull every trick in the book(like the crap Mills tried today) and make it a chore to get past them. The ideal scenario would be Spurs and OKC as the 6th and 7th seeds. We'll have to wait and see if that happens.
You are correct. The bad habits continued today and resulted in a loss. Hopefully this is a "good loss" that will cause the team to recalibrate. I've thought for some time during this latest streak the Rockets need at least a couple of losses to close the season. It's the only way for them to shake complacency.
Win or lose, these games don't matter. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a few more of these with the 5 games left. The other teams need the games and will be playing to extend their season. While the rockets are making sure all their players are good going into the playoffs first.
What happened? We lost fuking Spurs 17pts? Harden went back mentally soft again? I hope we do not lose the momentum due to rest.
Spurs need wins, Rockets need to start playoff ASAP. This is a good loss, no injuries and more rest. Shooting 34% against these pesky Spurs ain't going to win it. I'd be worried if Rocket shot a good percentage and lose to these 1st round exiters.
Your first two sentences repeat what i posted in this thread lol. you have no point, youre just arguing now. Crying over one meaningless game after the fact is as meaningless as this game was. again no bad habits weve been winning a lot its one game get over it.
I don't care that we lost, but what I care about is that we aren't playing the style of game that got us to this point. We shot 10 less 3's than average these last two games. We just look sloppy and lazy. The lack of a true center when Clint is not in doesn't help matters. I don't know what's up with James either, but 6 of his last 40 from behind the arc isn't good. Somebody else needs to be taking more shots and quit passing back to James.
Another trash effort, obviously because we clinched and we're looking ahead to the playoffs. Don't really care, but you don't want to go into the playoffs playing this shittily.
feels so good that all other teams are playing their heart out for a playoff spot..we are just coasting till playoffs start
Skip tomorrow morning: I told you this is why I don't trust James Harden & the Rockets in the playoffs! This game right here! You couldn't even beat my Spurs without Kawhi & you expect to win in the playoffs?! (Shannon: But they were missing CP3. *Skip ignores*) Sorry, I don't see it. The Houston Rockets are the biggest frauds in the the playoffs. You cannot trust James Harden. You cannot trust Chris Paul. And you cannot trust Mike D'Antoni. And this is why Harden isn't MVP. He puts up empty stats! When it comes to big games like yesterday afternoon, he shrinks. He's just a product of the system. [Insert player here] should be MVP. Shaq2Yao is gonna have it up tomorrow morning. @FTW Rockets FTW @Snow Villiers
For a team as dominating as the Rockets have been this year, this loss is actually good. Our team needed a wake up call -- the playoffs are not going to be a cakewalk. So many winning streaks can instill a false sense of invisibility. Still, at full strength and playing for something that matters, I have the Rockets as the favorite to win it all this year. We will not lose too many playoff games.
