Do you guys realize that Damon Jones is leading the league in AST/TO? 4.9 APG to 1.04 TO. How did that happen? Did he not play for us once? Or was it just in the preseason?

Yep, and Thomas's current salary is $5,394,125 so that's the BYC value to the Knicks in a trade.

Thomas will be 32 at the start of next season and is basically a "10/10" guy in the EC...solid, but not spectacular. In a personal retrospect, Kurt Thomas is probably not the answer for the Rox. He can not score like MO nor rebound and block like Cato.

MLE money is about right because from my vantage point, he would not start for the Rockets. If JVG abandoned the Cato at PF concept, Mo T would still get the bulk of the PF minutes. The Rockets wouldn't pay James Posey MLE $ to start so I doubt they'll pay Kurt Thomas MLE $ to backup Mo T.

I wish we could have work out a trade with the Grizz for him...

    Ed Griffin/Nachbar

    for

    Stromile Swift

    or

    Kelvin Cato

    for

    Stromile Swift

I think that could actually work!

We can't afford to lose ANY of these guys! Our team would simply fall apart without them. Unless, of course, we might be able to pick up a valuable free agent like:

If we can't get Barry or Ward, we should look into pursuing Kenny Anderson. He'd make a pretty solid backup PG for us.

We can worry about PF later, though I do think we need one that has an physical, inside game to take the next step; I'm just not confident that Yao will ever be at his most comfortable in the low block, banging with other big bodies. There just isn't much to pick in the way of that kind of player from this crop (that we can acquire, anyway).

What's the use of listing all these FAs?

It's not like that the Rockets will have any money to sign a contract larger than a MLE.

There are maybe 3 or 4 players on that entire list that deserve more than MLE. Everyone else can be had for less.

Grizz won't give up Stromile Swift who's productive on both ends of the floor. for Cato
