Did anyone else notice that last night most desirable Game. Yes it was Team Basketball on both ends of the Court. The question I pose is that this quick turn arround was almost like night and Day or Chalk and Cheese. A dull non entertaining Team suddenly had energy and were everything that we wanted them to be. Crisp quick passing,OH! I have been wanting this for ages, easy shots by the open man,JVG almost smiled!
All this after there were strong hints that the Rockets were about to TRADE!! Himmm! I wonder if this had anything to do with their return to decency.

Well....we were at home. So far we have played well at home, except for the Grizzlies and Spurs game.

Again....This team is very inconsistent. That is why they drive me crazy. but....I still love them, I don't know how I am going to go a whole month with out a Rocket's game! Damn....Off to Saudi. GOtta go finish packing.

Yes, this is one of the best games I have watched of late.

Is that due to the trade rumour? I don't know. What happened in the last couple of days? I guess, the most dominant news was probably related to EG...

Is that something to do with that? I don't know. There are too many factors that could contribute to a good game. A home coming, a message sent by the EG incidence, a trade on the work, a good practice, an experience playing against the SA and Min.... Well, I don't know.

    :)

there is no trade. and stop talking about trades. it's gets old.

The reason we played well because the Clippers are a 3rd tier team. WE need to learn how to run with the big boys, the Sacs, Lakes, Minn, Spurs...

    we'll get there.

No, it had to do with them playing the Eastern Conference Cavs and notorious cellar dwellars, the Clippers. Let's talk about returning to decency against someone we will be competing with for a playoff spot.

Exactly. John Lopez in the Chronicle was totally overreacting about how great this team can be after last night's performance. FYI to all overreacting sportswriters, the Clippers are one of the WORST defensive teams in basketball. They rank #23 in FG% against giving up about 97 PPG. Playing well against a team like the Clipps is not some huge achievement imo. Ofcourse this could be said to be an improvement from last yr as the Rockets choked up a road loss to Cleveland and a home game against the Clipps where they got thoroughly dominated. That being said, this team is still mediocre until they perform like this against better competition.

That one-sentence mention of Brent Barry HARDLY qualifies as a serious rumor. Additionally, players don't pay attention to the media. They avoid it like the plague.

My guess is that it had more to do with practice, the poor defense of the Clippers and a higher shooting percentage. When shots fall, the offense always looks good.

I don't think the Rockets have been inconsistent at all this year. Sure, the offense has definitely had its ups and downs, but when it comes to winning the games they should and losing the game they're expected to, this team has been right on target.

At this point in their development, I think we should expect the Rockets to win every home game, except a few again the elite teams. Even then, they should beat those elite teams occasionally. Here's how they've fared so far at home:

Home wins: Denver, Orlando, Miami, Phoenix, Golden State, Utah, Detroit, Portland, L.A. Clippers

They SHOULD have won all of those games, and they did.

    Home losses: Memphis, San Antonio

It would be nice if they'd beaten the Spurs, and they came close. The Spurs, however, are the reigning champs and this wasn't an expected victory for the Rockets. Which leaves the Memphis game as the only unexpected home loss.

On the road, the Rockets should be able to beat the sub-.500 teams and will probably struggle against the over-.500 teams. At this point, any wins we can grab against over-.500 teams on the road should be considered bonuses. How have they done so far? Check it out:

Away wins: Chicago, New Jersey, Philadelphia, L.A. Clippers, New Orleans, Cleveland

Chicago/LA/Cleveland are expected wins. NJ/Philly/NOrleans are bonuses.

Away losses: Dallas, Toronto, Portland, Utah, Sacramento, Seattle, San Antonio, Minnesota

Of those teams, only Seattle is sub-.500, and they're only two games under. In other words, we lost the games we were supposed to lose at this point in our development.

I rest my case. At this point, the Rockets are pretty much doing what they're expected to. To take it to the next stage, they need to start winning home games against elite teams regularly, and they need to start winning a road games now and then against teams that are over .500.

But for now, this team is actually pretty consistent when it comes to winning games they should win.

They simply "got it", referring to the team meeting they had. It takes our guys longer than normal to comprehend logic.

Please dont put words in my mouth that were never there in the first place. I like most active posters read about the hints of trades on this very BBS. In the same way as the Players could of read it.In the last game it was not just because it was the Clippers, anyone with a modicom of intelligence could see that they were playing so upbeat beyond any previous play even against the poor teams. No sorry, this is not the solution!

What sort of chance do you think you would have trading your Great Gradfather? Yetti is just too old.

I think Yao heard that he was being traded for a center who could lift some modicom of a weight and stepped up his play for the game.

    Lets make some trades.

Trade Steves ass to LA clips for Eddie House.
Trade Yaos ass to MIA Heat for Loren Woods.
Trade Cats ass to CHI Bulls for Rick Brunson.

These brickheads dont deserve to be on a great team like the Rox. Lets trade their asses to crappy teams for scrubs. :p
