So frustrating. This loss makes the playoffs awfully dim right about now. I know we are a young team, but it is so frustrating seeing this team get so close and then just have a couple of loose screws. Clutch free throw shooting is one of them. Cat missed one tonight that in retrospect would've eventually tied it, and usually I'm ok with mistakes every so often. That happens with young teams. But Steve and Cat both in several instances this season have had a lot of problems making the big FT's when they count. I know each have had their share of clutch moments, but things like tonight are simply inexcusable. Getting our share of players in the offseason will help, but this team will never be the championship quality team we hope them to be with a Webber, etc. until we start improving our money time execution. It has to start with free throws.

Francis has to be shooting around 70 percent since the All-Star break. It seems like he misses 2-3 free throws every game these days.

Actually Cat, I think it should start with playing better defense. The Rockets are just not a very good defensive team. They are young, and hopefully will improve, but that doesn't make it any easier to watch.

The bad defense all begins with the big men. As much as people love to lay the blame on the guards, and criticize their D, it's the big men that are truly at fault.

None of them play position defense. They let their man catch the ball where ever they want, and I hardly ever see them contest the shot. Also, none of them even show on the pick and roll when defending, allowing the other teams guards to just shoot an easy jumper.

Of course, none of this applies to Hakeem. He does everything a big man is supposed to.

The bottom line is that Francis is wearing down. The rebounding is taking its toll. Sore knees and ankles get you at the free throw line. The lack of front line rebounding is coming back to haunt us.

Maybe its me, but, why doesn't Cato learn all he can from one of the best centers to ever play the game?

Is it because he is (has)
    (A)lazy
    (B)(a)pathetic
(C)lots of money in the bank

Enough of the Cato bashing. They blew this as a team. Bad Rudy rotations again, bad defense by guards, bad defense by forwards, bad defense by everybody. They deserved to lose.

Your only as strong as your weakest link.

    Cato is our weakest link.

    ZRB,

The rockets guards went by the Nets guards at will, but their combo of Eschmeyer and Williams played great help D.The Rockets big men didn't with the exception of Hakeem. What I don't understand is why Dream was on the bench in the fourth until the 6 something mark.

The only big man that shows on the pick and roll when defending is Hakeem. The rest of the big men let the rockets guards guy just have that easy shot.

Also, you knew it was bad news for the Rockets when Eddie Gill was hitting his shots.

Yes, I wish Dream would have been brought in earlier in the quarter. Like at the 8 minute mark, when the Rockets still had a chance in hell.

    Finn*,

    Needed another choice.

    (D) All of the above

And the correct answer is: D
