I stand corrected. Still want to sweep them. Other than having the best season ever, the next best thing about this season has been the spurs falloff
great I can't wait to check back on the site tomorrow night to see the 63 games and 5 games to go thread. Without these threads, I'd have no idea. None!
It's not mean, it's the position we've earned by winning so many games so early. If need be, 4 out of 7 playoffs games will be played at home regardless. Every series. That being said our home court advantage shouldn't matter. If you sweep over and over it's 2 home and 2 road games.
It's amazing how the Spurs won 67 games that year and were 6 games behind the Warriors in the standings...
Who cares at this point. Tank all games where we are facing a team fighting for playoff positioning. The only thing we have left to prove is in the playoffs. bubble wrap all our players.... we can not shoot ourselves in the foot.
Playing games means conditioning too you know. As in you don't want to go into the playoffs rusty from a lack of play.
In theory I hear you but the only teams that'd follow what the Mavs & Spurs encountered would be the Thunder (if Russ somehow plays better) and Spurs with Kawhi. The GS Warriors in 07 were a bad matchup for the Mavs all year. I lived in Dallas at the time and their sports radio was hoping the Mavs would have beat them at the end of the season because it would have knocked the Warriors out of the 8th seed and the Mavs would have avoided playing them. The Spurs in 2016 faced a finally healthy Thunder team with two superstars. The Raptors could maybe be what the 07 Warriors were to the Mavs but the Rockets wouldn't see them until the Finals. Losing to the GSW in the WCF wouldn't be the same as losing in the 1st or 2nd round.
OKC was very underrated that year in regards to their season record. I still say OKC should have beat GS. OKC made the mistake we will not make. Letting Klay Thompson go crazy shooting threes for long stretches in the game. Klay has to be neutralized.
I agree with most of that, just saying that there WILL be ups and downs. I don't think people should be talking smack to other teams like we have already won. That's all.
