I'm talking about the video. You would see the proof if you would have watched it. Which you just confirmed you hadn't. You have no point and Westbrook is proving this year that last year's MVP award was a fluke/manufactured. It's not being salty when there's truth behind it. He ain't sh**.
I think my point is quite clear. Westbrook averaged a triple double and that was spectacular. It's obvious that averaging a triple double amazed voters and that's why he was voted MVP. That type of stuff hasn't been done since Oscar. The issue of whether he should have won it given harden's performance last year is separate. I thought Harden was more valuable. But the reality is the voters have to really buy into the candidacy. They didn't and Westbrook won, and I can see their rationale for it.
I feel like Russell Westbrook winning the MVP devalued the award a lot. I don't mean this in a bitter way, but it seems like it's all about numbers now. If we're going to be fair about this then we need to be fair. LeBron James and Anthony Davis should not finish 2nd or 3rd. Damian Lillard I guess, but the other two it's a clear no for me. Personally, I believe LeBron is still the best player in the league, and he's been playing like it all season but in the end you still have to win games. There needs to be a nice balance between numbers and wins. Sorry, Bron but 49 wins isn't going to cut it, or else we're just validating Westbrook's '17 MVP season. Imagine AD getting runner up with 45 wins and the 8th seed? Yuck. DeMar Derozan finishing 4th or 5th would mean that the voters haven't learned anything. The Raptors currently have 55 wins, and the best record in the east. Toronto could finish with 57+ wins. Yes, it's not better than Harden or the Rockets but it is definitely runner up worthy. But since DeMar Derozan isnt averaging 27 points then no one is talking about him even though he is playing winning basketball. He's the best player on the 2nd best team, no? If Curry can win the MVP averaging 24 points with 67 wins then DeMar can come in 2nd or 3rd averaging 23 points with 59 wins. If DD finishes 5th then nothing was learned, and all that happened was that Harden bullied his way into winning the MVP since he was so good.
It's frustrating to see all these LeBron takes. He has absolutely no case against Harden. It's a sick joke that he's even in the discussion. I can't believe what I'm reading and hearing about lebrons performance. A superstar who can't even drag his team to 50 wins in the east? Harden would be at 50 wins already if he was with the cavs
I think last year was one of the more disgraceful MVP's ever handed out. It trumped Rose over Lebron in my opinion. Westbrook's advanced stats were ass. He is a spectacular player to watch, but a black hole none the less.
With the most inefficient numbers in the history of players that won the MVP or even scored 25 ppg etc. Everything that shines ain't always gonna turn to gold.
Harden will be the victim of many more inconsistent voters this year who vote Lebron. It’ll be a close race. Media is dying to give it to Lebron down the stretch.
LeBron will get some votes. There are a lot of ESPN voters and their "echo chamber effect" is real. Influencers matter to the bobblehead voters (not as much a big deal with the stat geeks).
The Rockets clinched home court throughout the playoffs. I would like to see an MVP performance, but I’m kind of expecting Garbage Time Harden, instead. It is national TV, so maybe the motivation will be there and he’ll be locked in.
Yup. It’s why I don’t think Harden’s a lock like he once was. Media has gone into overdrive to pump Lebron these past couple months.
I can see why they were fooled into doing it, but he's the most embarrassing MVP....possibly ever. Getting fooled by flash over substance happens, but rarely does it happen that badly.
