    hey anybody heard of this guy the Mets just signed? i hear he is a lot better than Ichiro Suzuki. The guy is 5'9 and a jacked 190lbs of muscle

    I read that he is likely to be the third best Japanese player behind Hideki Matsui and Ichiro.

    Matsui is way overpaid, but he'll be an above-average shortstop. Good shortstops are hard to come by, but he won't be in the same class as Ichiro! and Godzilla.

    The ESPN article SoSoDef76 linked to makes pretty reasonable predictions on his production.

    neither Ichiro or Hadeki are shortstops

    big matsui will bounce back this next year too.

    seriously, how many japanese players come over here and are scrubs?

    i can only think of shinjo and irabu, and even they were okay for a while.
