We have Ariza’s bird rights and the likely taxpayers MLE. Obviously you meant vets besides CP3, but I think we sign Luc for the MLE, Ariza for whatever the situation dictates (potential hard cap), and that might make it hard to keep Green. I’m not sure we pursue a contract with Joe Johnson tbh.

You are wrong here , they can retain pretty much everyone.

With CP3 & Ariza the team will have full bird rights and be able to exceed the cap to retain them - No sense using the MLE on them.

The team will have Non-Bird rights on Green , they'll be able to offer him 125% of his current salary.

I think the MLE goes to Luc as he's the only current FA they cant retain otherwise.

I'm not sure about Johnsons status , they wont have bird rights , possible non bird like Green but don't quote me on that one.

and Morey should give GG a no trade clause - so he knows he's not just an asset to be dealt later...

 

What about Capela? I'm sure they will try to retain him, but with all the extensions there might not be much left for others. Do hope that Luc and GG stays.

Really want to see this guy in the play-offs, we are a deep team so let's see it. Hope he can contribute, stay poised and have some great games for us. He's definitely the type of guy you want to root for, he's all passion, loves Houston and says and seems to have grown. Young Gerald would have said these things, but not meant them, but now I believe he's really just happy to be on the team even if he doesn't play. He hasn't said or showed anything to the contrary. Haven't seen him sad on the sidelines or dropping some hints he wants to play badly blabla..Awesome guy!!

It's refreshing to see someone who is from HOUSTON speaking on how it feels to play for your home city. You can tell GG loves his city (if you could not tell by the tattoos).

He'll get minutes. First of all, the Rockets will have a few blowout wins, so he'll play in those. Second, D'Antoni seemed to finally figure out in the win at Portland that it's ok to actually give Green some backup minutes at the 2/3 spot even at the expense of his precious Joe Johnson.

 

There's valid reasons why teams don't give out many No-Trade clauses. Regardless, Green isn't eligible for a No-Trade clause.

One of the requirements is that you have at least 4 years of service with the team that you are signing with.
