Saturday March 31 11:05 PM ET Report: Webber wants to be a Houston Rocket Orlando, Fl. (AP) - Sacramento superstar Chris Webber is contemplating signing with the Houston Rockets this coming off-season. He spoke with a reporter in Orlando about his status as a free agent this summer. Webber's apparent love for the Rockets dynamic backcourt, a warm climate, and a diverse city have made Houston his top choice. He has not finalized anything yet, but is leaning heavily towards signing with the Houston Rockets. "Who wouldn't want to play with Stevie and Cuttino?" He also said how he would love it if Hakeem Olajuwon would remain a Rocket. "Playing with Hakeem has always been a dream of mine". Houston is expected to be under the cap this summer. They would be able to sign Webber to the maximum contract allowable under the current CBA. The Rockets have declined to make any comments. Rudy Tomjonavich did not want to risk getting fined for commenting on any free agents. His only statement being, "Who wouldn't want a Chris Webber on their team?" Webber has been visiting Houston the past two summers to check out the city. "I think Houston would be a great place to play". The Rockets are currently fighting for the last playoff spot in the tough Western Conference. Webber also stated how he loves the way the Rockets have turned around their system of play in less then two years. ------------------

If only it wasn't that devilish date known as the first of April. Sigh... ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
I have to say, that "article" was very well written. Nicely done. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
If this article is real, then I'm geeked up. Why not us ? We're a big diverse city and we have a dynamic backcourt. Deep down ,I would say Webber prefers NY and Sprewell, but whatever. But, he's also said NY is too big. I wouldn't count us out. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
News Flash: Shaq wants to be traded to the Rockets. My source managed to pull this quote from Shaq. You heard it here first folks. Now run and tell your friends and be the envy of everyone! [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited April 01, 2001).]

Would you rather him post it on the 31st and have the article come out on the 1st? Now that would be neat. lol. ------------------ "I hate being in the lottery as much as the next guy, but come on people, that's where we need to be right now. We still don't have all of the pieces" -- Gascon, in conjunction with Clutch's Lottery Generator, has fired the starter's pistol on this season's lottery race. Let the tanking begin!

I didn't believe it simply because I don't believe anything Webber says these days....BTW, I'm in Honors English. ------------------ Note: It was my cowhead. I started the cowhead craze, and my cowhead inspired Mooch to step up and bring us a victory. Thank you for your time.
I will give you credit on writing a professional looking article. If you wanted to make it look ever more legit you should have used the city that Webber was in instead of Orlando. Since he's in Sac town you should have used the Sacramento Bee (i think thats the local paper there) Nice "article" still ------------------ Houston's Schedule: (40-33) @NJN, Dal, Sea, Atl, @Uth, Den, @Por, @Van, Min Minnesota's Schedule: (42-30) @Por, Por, Pho, LaL, @Van, @LaL, @LaC, Uth, @Hou, @Dal

What made this joke more believable than others is the article. I figured there is no way ROckets03 could write something like that without cussing someone out or doing half of it in CAPITALS! ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
