Rushmore was the alpha and the omega for me. Nothing else of his has come close. Maybe I was just in the right mood, but I still enjoy rewatching it.
I agree completely. Maybe my second favorite Anderson movie to Rushmore. Not feeling this dog movie very much, and I didn't really like the Fox movie. Dahl and his backstory are just too f*ed up, even for my tastes, which is saying something.
That's perfect. "He's basically his own genre." Royal Tenenbaums is my pick. He hasn't made a bad movie as far as I'm concerned.
Probably my least favorite Wes Anderson movie. I give it a 7.5 out of 10, and highly recommend it. The narrative/story is kind of scattershot and contrived, but the plot is secondary to the characters, visuals, details...pretty much like all of his movies.
Rep him all day since he's from the H and shot part of Rushmore at North Shore. Highly recommend this movie. 8.5/10. Try to watch it at Alamo Drafthouse. Definitely one of those casual watches.
