Has that ever happened in the NBA before? I wonder what the closest ranking was for the 2nd player?

Kevin Johnson & Jason Kidd were not only in the top 4 as members of the Suns, they averaged MORE ASSISTS per game total while scoring LESS points per game as a team. But wait... there's MORE. They ALSO had Steve Nash.

True but Kidd was traded mid season and only played in 33 games. Harden and Paul have played the ENTIRE season together.

Sam Cassell was also on that team for a bit. Traded for Kidd.

Yup, we grabbed the wrong guy in the trade for Barkley. Should have been KJ :)

That's a lot a work to forget to click the "Qualifies for Assist Leaderboard" criteria. :(

John Wall will not qualify this year (requiring 58 games played; he's at just 37) So, Harden is 3rd and Paul is 4th. :)

Some of these teams didn't have at least one player qualify or both players played around 60 games or under. Not bad on the stats though, good job. The closest I see to Houston's duo is 1982-83 Drew 8.1 and Williams 7.9. Both played in most of the team games.
