No problem with it. I hate the fact our coach and Calvin think it was too much. I strongly disagree, it wouldn't ever happen if Dieng didn't push Paul first. Somebody had to step in and stand up for your smaller star point guard. You absolutely cannot let that slide. Tough break for the spectators but it's the price you pay for those court side seats. Players fly into the front row seats plenty of times. Whether it's being pushed or on your own trying to get a loose ball, it's irrelevant.
So noone gonna say this is CP3 fault? All that extra after the whistle... The deadman flop..... I aint mad at Green .. And honestly I aint mad at Dieng... CP3 has that "lil man" complex bad.. Surprised this kinda reaction didn't happen in Clipper Land alot..Thats when CP3 was at his best with overdoing ****... Great player and love that he's on the team... But a b**** is still a b**** wherever he goes...
Ok I didn't watch this game. But I'm totally fine with what Green did on the replay. Didn't seem excessive to me. Maybe 1 game suspended. You want your backups to protect your stars.
MDA better not throw GG in the dog house cuz of this... you cannot stifle GG's passion. It would be like cutting off Samson's hair.
It would be the NBA's problem indeed -- not Gerald Green's or the Rockets'. If they actually care about fan safety, no fans would be sitting that close to the court, period.
One of the other things about it that bothers me -- and I may be wrong or using confirmation bias here -- but it shows what I've already observed about him, that he's not a high hoops IQ guy. If he's hitting shots (and he was terrific there tonight), he's great ... but if he's not, he's not giving you much else. I'm not advocating Joe Johnson over Gerald Green, but it makes me understand better why coaches such as D'Antoni make those decisions... it's all about trust. Remember, Gerald Green went into the Clippers locker room also. He's an emotional guy. The playoffs are going to be high intensity and emotional. I'm not sure D'Antoni is going to trust him in the postseason.
Yeah, I am with Clutch, not smart, and the fact that he pushed him into the crowd warrants a suspension, I am guessing 2 games. I see him as a much better Von Wafer type. DD
If he's not hitting then simply take him out. Joe Johnson is a net negative on the court. I would rather take my chances with Gerald.
I'm kind of reminded of Von Wafer. Hope he doesn't have a meltdown in an inopportune time like Von did. Though as I recall, there were rumors of Wafer getting under teammates' skin in the locker room and him being somewhat selfish. From what I can tell, all the Rockets love Gerald Green. He's also older, and hopefully wiser.
I don’t buy it being a major problem for the NBA... hell last year a damn baby got hit with a line drive in the face and you didn’t hear anything about the MLB. When you buy a ticket read the back... you could literally die and they are cleared. As far as Green goes I’m glad he fought back and I don’t mind the tech or if he gets suspended. You have to stand up for your guys and Green wasn’t about to let anybody punk his teammate. Now maybe in the playoffs it would be different cause losing him for a game could be crucial but him getting suspended for a regular season game which he probably wouldn’t get much run in anyway doesn’t bother me.
I had no problem with what Green did. He had his teammate's back. The mistake was pushing him into the fans in the front row. Someone could've gotten hurt. He'll definitely get suspended a game or two, but I respect that he was standing up for one of his guys.
GG is so real one, it was in the heat of the moment and he stood up for his teammate, not a big deal.
Hahahaha I agree man... I was kinda bummed we got CP3 in the beginning since I always thought he was the biggest punk in the NBA and didn’t like his flopping and whining. BUT!!! Obviously I’m glad he and Harden have been such a great fit and we’ve had this amazing season and I hope CP3 can continue to help us compete for titles for many years. But like you said he is still a B.......
I don't understand why this is a problem. At least give him a chance every single game, and if he's making dumb plays then take him out. But Green just fits too perfectly with this system to constantly sit him out like that. And it's not just his shooting, but his athleticism and his ability to finish at the rim. This team is generally old and slow, and we definitely need more high energy guys like Green on the floor.
It looked like we were losing momentum before the push, which was why Chris was so scrappy with the ball. The mood could've swung either way had Gerald not been ejected because the Rocks def needed a wakeup call at that moment. Love his heart and how he's there to back up the team. It seems like MDA is using Gerald as a firecracker that breaks up the flow if things don't go our way.
