Joe is slow-mo for sure, but Green is a gunner, plays out of control, a defensive liability, and is either really on or really off. Recently he has been really off. Not sure he is an upgrade. When Anderson comes back, JJ minutes should fade.
joe johnsons value is that no contender where he would actually fit got him. obviously gerald green should be getting his minutes, but we just have tough it out. honestly though i dont think Mike D is too stubborn to not play green if it will help the team. if we are getting our ass kicked he wont hesitate to make a change in the playoffs. at that point the wins mean more than a players ego. for now let joe have the minutes. gerald will ALWAYS be ready to step in and produce. he wasnt even on a roster for the first couple months of the season.
lolwut...Ryan passes open 3s too. That's half the frustration. Them positive vibes must be doing its thing.
I respectfully disagree . I haven't watched much of JJ for other teams , but from what I've seen while playing for the rox .... He doesn't deserve mins over green .... And it's not close
Iso Joe is the new Ryno Cmon, is this board full of REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE autistics? All teams need a 'Ryno' or 'Joe'. It's like the ecosystem
Not when GG is bringing the energy hustle and is playing much better. Granted I'd rather have Ryno and GG in when he's off but but we lose a big step when JJ comes in the game
Honestly, I think he would have. He plays with a passion and intensity that I don't quite see from Joe Johnson.
Yeah, the coach that just took us to a 17 game win streak needs YOUR advice, Clutch Fans! Our team lost a game against the best team in the East by 3 points! Emergency!!!! Are we in last place yet? Or are we still in first place? (Just checked: still in 1st.) GTFO.
and some uneducated to the field websleuths have solved countless cases that even the most veteran of detectives couldn't figure out. The most successful people are open to ideas from all sources. To think a fan who has watched every team game at a meticulous level for 20+ years might be able to spot something that a '17 game win streak' coach missed isn't preposterous at all. It's the ones that go on to eventually fail or never truly rise to the top who has the closed mindset that assumes off the bat that anyone who isn't as credentialed as he can't possibly offer any advice, or shine light on something. I come from the field of medicine. I know more about the body and how it works then >98% of the population. I'd make for a terrible doctor if I didn't listen to what the patient thinks is the problem. I'd be a terrible doctor if I didn't listen to the mother of a pediatric child whom knows absolutely nothing about medicine about what she thinks is going on. They know their childs body and health, even without a doctorates education. They absolutely can shine light on something regarding the condition.
Come on BMJ, you're better than this... I know that you see Joe's deficiencies and how they tax our team, specifically on defense. Go back on DVR for the Toronto game and watch all of his defensive possessions. Keep your eye on him the whole time and you'll see why he shouldn't be getting minutes in important games. You can even count all of the points he gave up on defense, either directly or indirectly after his guy broke down the defense and got an assist.
True, but the person that looks at last night's game should also look at last year's playoffs. (Like D'Antoni has)
I'd actually be pumped to see that. Let's get down to business and see If he has anything left. 38 minutes tomorrow as the starting SG.
I just saw D'Antoni at HEB - he was looking super frazzled because of the pressure that this thread is putting on him.
Of course D'Antoni is doing exactly what you said. It's the whining about not winning an 18th straight game that's so absurd.
That's why I posted in the game thread that I thought the challenge of the game and the loss as well will be good for our team going into the playoffs. The kind of effort and success Toronto had against us was a matter of playing every possession like playoff basketball. Rockets needed that wakeup call to get a taste of how different the playoffs will be and to sort out how to respond to adversity. That they almost won but didn't will be a great teachable moment for our players. It doesn't make me disappointed we lost. I mean, I'm always disappointed when we lose. But I consider that loss to have been a valuable one.
some people act as if they know better than the coach..................if that were true, you would be an NBA coach
lets put pressure on a guy who has led the team to a long win streak and the number 1 seed...............yeah great thinking. I swear some people are not happy here unless the team wins 82 games
I haven't looked into it, but i would curious to see J. Johnson's minutes by unique rotation -- ie., MDA could possibly be under the direction of the front office to allow a small sample of data to be gathered on joe johnson and where he fits in or doesn't. It's silly to assume that the entire fan base sees that Johnson is under performing, but the coaching staff is unaware.
