I don't think so . I think you can "acclimate" him without giving him all of greens minutes . I think you can sit his old ass in close games . If we want to acclimate him , we can play him vs Dallas or other crap teams

b-b-b-b-b-but Gerald "gets lost on defense" at least he has the athleticism to recover and make up his mistakes on defense. joe johnson just get's blown by with ease and let's guys go straight to the rim.
I defended JJ because he has playoff experience and I thought he needed time to fit in the team. But it looks like he doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with many young athletes anymore.. I'm pretty sure GG would have done great this game
Yeah, not impressed by Joe so far...i was one of those who wanted him here but i see no reason to play him over Gerald in some sort of games and especially some sort of moment (with the game on the line), his defense is maybe worse than Ryan's so...
"Wright is insurance. He won't play unless Nene or Black are hurt/injured." Yet Joe walks in day one & gets significant minutes. Maybe Joe should join Brandan on the shelf & "Break glass: use in case of emergency."
GEE WHIZ. PLAYOFF JOE JOHNSON EH? I cannot say it enough times. Joe Johnson looked good for a game and a half against the Clippers because they, had BY FAR, the smallest wing rotation in the LEAGUE. LET alone the playoffs. CP3, Felton, Rivers, Crawford, Redick. No one could guard his slow post-ups. And yet still, he was shut down in the other 4 games in the series. And PROMPTLY crucified by Golden State every game in the very next round.
