The alternative would be to pull the lever for a woman with a history of attacking female victims and protecting those who victimize women....and not just ancient history, she was doing so during her campaign.

You can't really blame women for voting for one awful person over the other awful person.....but you will anyway because tribalism.

The minority women of 2050 will not be thinking or voting like the minority women of 2016. You talk like today's voters will somehow be replaced by better voters. No, it's just the foolish policies they'll pursue will be different from the foolish ones of today. People will still be people.

    Nope. Hell nope.

The looney right, the looney left and the looney libertarians are not that important in the grand scheme of things, they're just the loudest.

I have faith that the rest of us normal folks will right the ship and keep on keeping on.

It's humorous because the Nazis also said it was the left that was the threat and they were defending freedom.

Hmmm. One bunch of guys (repped in part by pacifist Einstein) truly didn't want to exterminate another part of the populace, but whatevs. Weimar was a brutal time for sure.

Pre WW2 Antifa in Europe actually did use violence in some cases. They were still insignificant against the power of the military of course so they were never a threat as much as an excuse like they are trying to be made into now.

Nowadays some Antifa kids at Berkeley burns a trash can and the right is ready to declare Martial Law.

I get so sick of the equating of “the hard left” and literal Nazis. Bernie Sanders’ policy decisions are exactly the same as FDR and even less extreme in some cases yet Bernie positions are somehow viewed as “extreme left” now in this country.

    It’s insane.

I've read a hell of a lot of science fiction for many years, and these possible futures have all been speculated about in one form or another. What makes Mr. trump different is that he's a near future coming to life in the present, with the unbalanced wannabe "strongman" suck up to Putin, Xi, and the other strongmen littering the world being "elected" by a minority of Americans who bothered to vote and had no clue that they were being led by a hostile foreign power to do so. Mr. trump is actively encouraging what he admires. He's encouraging not only Putin and Xi, but also the formerly fringe political parties in Europe that are having increasing influence, while being actively supported by bastards like Putin. He and his cronies, including the fool in the White House, are doing the same thing there that has been done here, and it hasn't stopped in Europe or the United States.

Mr. trump has done nothing about the clear and present danger to our democracy by Vladimir Putin. He has done nothing except both praise Putin and attempt to blame others for what Putin has done and continues to do. In my humble opinion, it is an act of treason against the United States. Mr. trump needs to be impeached, thrown out of office, and put in prison for a long, long time. It should happen soon. We have had very important people in charge of national security who have testified before Congress that they have gotten no direction from this White House about how to make our elections safe from foreign attack. It is an unconscionable failure by the creature claiming to be President of our country. More than anything, his silence condemns him.
