Has anyone else noticed that Rudy seems to play people that will be here for a few years more often then players that are probably not going to be here after this year.

I mean, Los never gets off the bench, and Shandon never plays in the crunch.

I really think Rudy is looking at a longer view then most of us fans. I think Rudy knows this team is not ready, and wants to season the young guys with lessons, so that when they are ready to compete for a championship, he can say...."Remember the Clippers in '01"

I think he has a plan, and it is not necessarily about doing everything he can to win NOW. He is looking a lot farther down the road.

    Just my observation,

    DaDakota

I was at the game with my brother-in-law. We were both thinking the same thing, plus: Rockets want to keep that draft pick.

If that is the case, then I have lost even more respect for Rudy. The attitude should ALWAYS be WIN NOW! Preparing for the future is not good enough. Winning should always be the priority. That's why, this playoff-less season is going to leave a nasty taste in my mouth.

    Actually,

I have said all along I don't think we will make the playoffs.

I just think the Rockets are a year away.

DaDakota is a year late and a tetnus shot short on this theory. Last years ISOs were "the lesson". This year is maturation and winning and learning to shed the ISOs.

DaDakota, I know you said "just my observation", but I can't fathom Rudy trying to teach any other lesson right now than winning big games in a playoff race.

Interesting notion of why Los is not playing, and why Shandon isn't in at crunch time, but ... nah ... that can't be the reason. Rudy??? maybe Phil Jackass.

I think that if Rudy put in Langhi, it would be obvious what he is doing.

I think he wants to win, but I think he is working towards a bigger picture.

You just said it yourself DaDa - If Rudy put in Langhi your theory is proven good - well guess what as much as Rudy loves Langhi he still thinks he's not ready to make a different getting the Rockets to the playoffs - so he sits his ass if there is not a route. Rudy is a realist - he will give up only when the fat lady sings - and shes not singing yet. (And no way she would be singing for a couple of days even if everything did go the way we not wanted - and it wont - so expect the lady to keep warming up.)

T'Wolves lose as expected so we still have only 1* game to make up - don't say thats impossible.

*) One game compared to my schedule. My schedule has us losing 2 more games - at Portland and at Utah. I can see us winning 1 of them - I really can - and If we only win the rest as we should - then we are there. I also have T'Pups winning every home game they have left, and they are up against Suns, Jazz, Blazers and Lakers - thats the 4 homegames they have left. They could lose any of these games - we only need 1 compared to my schedule. Of course they will have to lose most of their away games - but their away schedule is even more brutal. (Blazers, Lakers, Dallas and Rockets. They are also on a back to back when they face Clippers (and we now Clippers is no walkover anymore) and then they face Grizzlies.

It is still possible. I BELIEVE!!! (I'm not saying it will happen - but damnit it is possible, so whatever you are hearing can't be a fat lady - I think you must be singing to yourself.

I think I'd at least get a nomination. But I'd give the award to Cat if for nothing more than his spirited defense of Jason Collier and Maurice Taylor.

Oh, and don't forget Heypartner. You may not understand half of what he's posting, but from what I gather from the remainder, its pretty optimistic.

I thought we did this in another thread - I'm a pessimist, and HeyP know I am.

I'm also a fan - by puedlfor's definition in another thread so I do not give up even if I do see that we are behind the schedule playing catchup.

After thinking about it Cat is the ultimate optimist. All you have to do is check out his defense of Mo in the beginning of the season when everyone was bashing him. Cat was pretty much the only dude defending him and now look what's happened, ppl hardly ever bash "no boards" mo.
