I’m just glad kathaleen Wall didn’t win. She didn’t even make the runoff.

I wonder if repubs didn’t vote for her or if people jumped to the other booths to vote for someone else.

Yes, I laughed my ass off this morning when I learned she had come in third. Credit to the voters for doing their homework and making the right decision. She had all those endorsements and still lost.

She couldn't even open her mouth with out sounding like an idiot.

Her campaign was other people talking about how she's like Trump.

I was browsing Second District because of this post. Second District is as gerrymandered a district as you can have.

Got the Mega rich tax break and doesn't want to stick around to see it crumble. He had no upside.

Agree it's the smart play, but it's not the move of someone who loves his country. He is literally someone who could make moves to save his party from 45, to say nothing of saving America.

I don't blame him the same way I don't blame Boehner. Imagine being Speaker of the House and not having control over your own party. Not worth the headache when you can make more from lobbying.

If you guys didn't like Ryan, you're going to abhor Kevin McCarthy. He's far more conservative and more Trumpian. The biggest casualty from 2016 is going to be rich, suburban GOP congressman. Which in practice is going to mean more tariffs, less free trade, and a strong emphasis on triggering the libs and culture wars.

I for one am personally excited to have a higher cost of consumer goods with no social safety net and less worker rights. But hey my taxes went down a few percentage points so surely that will cover the cost. And hey, now you can brag to your college aged niece at Thanksgiving that she still can't smoke weed legally. Definitely worth the tradeoff.

You gotta admit that McCarthy will be entertaining. That guy can barely complete a sentence without his mouth turning into mush. Paul Ryan could at least project a sort of wonkish image (even if it wasn't true). McCarthy just projects a doofus attitude that seems fitting for our current Congress.

I would think the republicans will get even less accomplished under McCarthy than Ryan. I would think Ryan was at least a little more likable and able to attract the more moderate members of his part and even the occasional Democrat or two. I would guess trump, er, the republican house members will choose the guy that got shot... after all, he became likable after getting shot...

For those who forgot just how ridiculous Kevin McCarthy is, Colbert did a pretty good summary a few years ago.
