Jeff Van Gundy is suggesting reading books. I suggest he read books from Wooten of UCLA fame. He might be able to get some better plays to add to his playbook.
http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69244 According to a GARM poll 80 of the 204 total votes in the "Should we trade?" thread were in favor of trading Steve Francis. So I guess the majority of the people here on cc.net would agree with me. As harsh as reality may be to you, my guess would be that and even greater number of people would now vote the same.
Since votes went elsewhere, that's when! Of the voters in this thread, the "MAJORITY" voted to trade Francis. You can't dispute that. If you want other results post a "yes or no" poll on whether we should trade Francis.
I am right. But yes, in theory, you are also right. Despite having four options, he is still the majority. Simplify the options, by limiting it to two choices. Reguardless if there was 3 or 4 options, if "Trade Francis" was the most popular sentiment, then the majority has spoken. Who wins? Republicans 45% Democrats 35% Green Party 20%
The concept you're searching for is called a "plurality," as in "A plurality of these sores are congenital." Plurality!
NO! The team cannot hit an OPEN FRICKING SHOT Stockton is not STOCKTON without Malone and people hitting open shots!!! Rocket River be fair
don't be obtuse Let's see. .. If the play is simple. . .the the defense knows it Give other teams some credit If you use simple plays . . . then sometimes they easier to defend esp when you know the PF is not a scoring threat It is the coaching. . . perhaps a FEW MORE picks or something would help but then again . . .u just a SF Hata or a YOF Rocket River
Carlos Arroyo was drafted in the 2002 draft in the 1st round. Raul Lopez was drafted in the 2003 draft in the 1st round. Is Jerry Sloan a dummy for drafting passing point guards twice? What does Sloan see that CD can't? I see a smart man who knows how important a passing point guard is to the chemistry of the team. Tony Parker was also drafted in the 1st round a few seasons ago.
I do not blame Steve for implementation of new offenses. I'd rather see the Rockets try something totally new on offense that looks good to watch and not make the playoffs. This garbage offense has got to change. Maybe putting Yao as a really tall passer around the free throw line manages to keep this team together. I'd like to see this team win together if possible.
Most of the shot attempts of the Rockets come after the shooter dribbles once. This is not good. Dribbling just once creates a level of instability that throws off even the best shooters. Even Piatkowski is looking like a bricker in this offense. I don't want to see Piatkowski have to create his own shot.
That's all our team needs. If we had a passing pg all of a sudden our center would play like Shaq, our PF would play like Elton Brand, Our SF, would play Vince Carter, and our SG would be just like Kobe. Darn our semi-passing pg. Look what he's preventing this team from doing.
It's not all we need but it is a good start. Good passing makes everyone better ... watch Utah, watch NJ ... their talents surely do not match ours but they sure look good if all they have to do is taking a simple open jump shot or layup. Good passing won't turn us into Carter or Kobe ... but it will turn us into Utah and that is a whole lot more fun to watch.
You're making it sound as if a passer is an insignificant cog in a team. Why did the Jazz waste the last 2 1st round draft picks on Carlos Arroyo and Raul Lopez?
Would would we waste 1st round picks on a position that is already filled by a star player, especially, when we have weaknesses in other areas that need to be addressed (like the 3 and 4 spots)??? And why are you equating what one team, with a different offensive philosophy, a different makeup, and different nees, does in a draft versus our own team??? The Jazz needed replacements for Stockton, so they drafted one. The Rockets were looking for replacements at the 3/4/5 spots so they drafted for that (Griffin and Boki and Ming).
Don't ask JVG... he wouldn't know what the question meant. He probably had a book reading film fest that he blasted players in for moving to much. They all interpreted that as stay with their man - even on offense. After all, they don't get screamed at if they do it on defense...
