So I was at the game last night, and I agree with with the vast majority of this. But I thought Nene had a really hot and cold night. Offensively, he made a few baskets when their offense was stagnant in the third. But defensively, he got totally abused all night long, especially by Greg Monroe. Monroe pretty much did whatever he wanted when he was on the floor with Nene. And it shows on the box score. Nene had a -16 in only 14 minutes, and Monroe was a +23 with 18 points in only 19 minutes.

I've got to think that last night's game was the reason Morey added Wright, and they really could have used him last night.

True, Monroe had a field day and Nene misses some gimmes with the lack of jumping ability at his age. Good points.

I was really happy about this W.

Many people say we played so badly, but I think as a team we played pretty well. Our stars struggled, but we didn't have a lot of turnovers, rebounded well, and stayed in it when Boston was shooting SO much better through 3.

I think JJ shouldn't get all the minutes Green did considering actual time production. I think Celtics made a lot of TOUGH jumpers while we missed some gimmes, but in the end we didn't actually play poorly, it was just a tough game.

    Go Rockets!!!

Part of it has to be sharing the floor with Iso Joe.

Another plus from last night's game: Hardens D and continued hustle. In the past, he becomes apathetic during the game, lazy on D, etc. Here he really fought hard in the post, fought for boards, etc. Despite his bad night on the other side of the court. Really happy to see that, though I hope he shoots better in the future (we'll need him playing much better in the playoffs).

IMO, the only thing that frustrated me was Capela not finishing at the rim well. There was a stretch where he was missing wide open dunks. He can't get away with that against teams like Boston, GS, etc...

I believe he came under pressure, and couldn't handle it, though he did attack the rim hard in the 1st quarter.
No room for errors unfortunately, as you pointed out. I hope Wright will get fit quickly, otherwise we are going
to struggle from time to time against better defensive teams.

I only got to watch part of the game because of a technical snafu with Hulu TV (going to watch the whole thing today) but what was up with all the transition plays? Seems like I haven't seen Houston with a lot of transition opportunities in this streak and it seemed like there were a lot more deflections and opportunities than in games past. Was that reflected in the entire game or did I just happen to catch a stretch?

Rockets are now 29-1 when Tucker scores more than 5 points.

    Causal or casual stat?

Wright has had to miss the last 4 games or so after just one game where he played 15 minutes. I don’t think we should expect much from him if anything at all. Not sure D’antoni will throw him in during the playoffs if he doesn’t get a consistent run with the team.
I agree with you though, we may struggle at times with this.

I believe that Harden will shoot better in the playoffs. His confidence is increasing. He does need support from Capela ,a healthy Wright and Anderson to be at his best. The more help that he gets, will free him up on offense.

gordon was benched the final minutes of the first half as well. i'm thinking maybe pringles didn't want to overplay him in just his 2nd game back.

however, running joe johnson in the rotation again the 2nd half, after he had been a liability on both ends during the first half especially defensively -- was inexcusable. pringles is just so rigid in his ways that once he decides on a gameplan he rarely ever adjusts anything during the actual game.

this was the ideal game to get green minutes because he's one of the only guys we have on the roster who can play above the rim and match boston's wings athletically. JJ was getting murdered off the dribble vs those guys smh

regarding the refs, malloy is just flat out terrible. you could see that most of the r****ded calls all night were coming from where he was positioned on the sideline in front of the scorerkeeper's table. for some odd reason for 5 minutes straight during pregame warmups the camera was panned on malloy nonstop, and the guy just looks like a fuking zombie in a fog, something not straight in his head :X

The Rockets are the best team in the league and have answered the bell all season long. Respect your opponent yes, but just saying it’s not a one-sided reverence....

I'm disappointed Brandon "One Game Wonder" Wright wasn't available.
I believe his size could have limited Monroe and we would have won easily.
Monroe was too much for Nene to handle

Great win. My only complaint has to do with something Boston did that I never want to see the Rockets do.

That is, put a corporate logo on the uniforms. We are not some pansy Euro soccer group. We are the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association. "National" meaning the United States (with one interloper). I'm sick of arenas getting corporate names and if this corporate patch becomes a trend, I'm out. I'm certainly never buying an impure Rockets jersey.

Is it still possible to add another non-NBA player for the playoffs, and to cut either Wright ( if he can't play at all) or Black( he is very limited)?
I'm not looking for Dorsey or D-Mo, someone better than them, like JJ Hickson for example.
