I worry mda will play him over Green in the playoffs, so hope that the posters saying he is only getting minutes because the coaching staff wants to get him acclimated, are right.

green came in instantaneously and made an impact and kept making an impact over and over and over and over again.

why should the rockets bend over backwards to accommodate a 36 year old square peg in a round hole?

Rockets are undefeated with JJ. We need JJ and Green. There will be plenty of chances for both of them to shine and the key is that they are both ready to do what the team needs to get the trophy. The whole roster has bought in. That's why we have a real shot.

Johnson shouldn’t be simply taking Greens minutes. Certainly not when he’s a clear negative.

When I watch JJ play I feel like his play style doesn’t fit our team. He doesn’t play with a lot of energy and defense is not that great.

One plausible explanation remaining is that MDA trusts JJ guarding 4's on switches because he's bigger than GG.

He got owned by Morris repeatedly though. And he's too slow when he switched onto guards. Gerald got confused but he's always played with energy and got good blocks, steals and rebounds every now and then. JJ hasn't been giving us any of that..no energy. He looks tired the whole time he is out there.

True, but he has proven that he brings it in the playoffs, when everything slows down.

I think everyone is forgetting that Gerald was real big for the Celtics in the playoffs last year too. Bill Simmons has said this repeatedly. Hell he ended up starting for them. Celtics simply didn't bring him back because they at the time had a glut of young wings they wanted to develop but they wanted to.

Really think he should be taken out of the lineup... didn’t see a need for him in the first place. But hey if we keep winning who cares who plays?

I feel Joe Johnson is doing way to much, his role is simple. If you're open shoot... if not.. drive and do your float for two. C'mon JOE.

JJ is too slow, he can't defend any pf who can shoot

The one thing JJ has over GG by a mile is basketball IQ. It sounds simple but it means alot. He makes the right extra pass...he makes the right rotation. His defense hasn't been great but it is not close to as bad as people are making it out to be. He is a better defender then green for sure.

Sitting him out for the next 2 games won't hurt. He can get some rest against the relatively easier teams to get going.

I was afraid that Jazz homer might be right in that interview. This season is too good for this type of disruption. I don’t want our best players having to make up for Johnson’s shortcomings all the time. I want our ream to be sufficiently rested for the playoffs and not overcoming deficits and hard fought games.

Jj is here in the season to give us the ability to rest some of our players until playoffs. Well at least that is what I am hoping. Last year I guarantee if Ryno was out, we'd watch Ariza Harden paul and gordon play the entire game. He's a third string filler at this point.
