No 4 point line, but extended the 3 so that only the best shooters are shooting them. Should make offenses more interesting, too. Just eliminate the corner 3.

The red hash mark on the side out is the key.

Start there and follow the exact curvature of the 3pt line.

That’s about 6-8 feet behind the 3pt line I’m guessing.

Calling it gimmicky is like the people who said 3pt line was gimmicky. Like saying 2pt conversions were gimmicky. It’s always gimmicky until it becomes the norm.

I think it might change offensive philosophy completely. The game might not look at all the same.

You might see a guy just stand at that 4pt line continually, while the other 4 players play real offense. If nobody guards the 4pt guy he launches it. You'll have guys practicing that shot nonstop.

Offensive rebounding % on near-half-court-shots would be abnormally high.

There would be less fastbreaks, Mr. 4pter would just get back on D after each attempt. That guy could also potentially play 48mpg with little wear.

Yes, but try it in the all-star game, like C-Webb was suggesting. I'm not sure I would want it outside of the all-star game, but if it worked extremely well for several years, maybe consider it. I just don't want to see teams jacking up a bunch of crap over and over hoping to "catch up" from falling behind, etc. If it were used more than just very sparingly, I believe it would degrade the game (by encouraging very low percentage shots). I don't personally enjoy games than end in blowouts, much less scores like 72-65.

That's a little too short IMO.
