Tmac and Francis should never be invited to Rockets gatherings. I wouldn’t even post a pic of them in the stadium.

    None of those.

I'm personally not a fan of retiring names of GM's or owners. I don't really like that we have Carroll Dawson's name retired.
You look up there and see Malone, Drexler, Murphy, Olajuwon, Tomjanovich, Yao... And "CD" Dawson.
I know it's just my opinion, but one of those things is not like the other

Some numbers can be retired eternally, others dun, they could be on borrowed time and can be reinstated.

But yeah, retiring numbers does not seem to be the way to go.

You retire once in a generation talents that represented the city and team culture. Retiring everyone's #'s is ridiculous. Sure everyone who plays in the NBA is a world quality athlete, but you don't retire merely on talent potential.

I get retiring Hakeem, Rudy, and Calvin; but retiring everyone who did anything special is going over board. Y'all might be confusing a hall of fame situation and # retirement.

Nobody is discounting the special type of player Francis, McGrady, Eliw, etc. were.

TMac's jersey was in the process of being raised to the rafters, but then it dropped to the ground and claimed it needed microfracture surgery.

Maybe patterson. Hell no to tmac and Steve. Both were great players but neither accomplished anything for us and one of them quit on the team. These guys were all Stars, not legends.

If he wins mvp and/or takes us to the finals, harden is next for Jersey retirement.

I think a combination of Cato/Maloney/MoTay/Pippen would be great as a reminder to avoid offering bad contracts.

In seriousness, despite his battle with alleged addictions, Stevie had an incredible tenure with us.

Rant/ Looking back on his stats and some of those heroic games, it still pains me to consider how great he could have been. Looking beyond all of the amazing talent, I wish a few, small tweaks took place during the way with his career started. I think it would have made all of the difference.

I love Rudy T and the offense that Rudy employed with Steve, Cat and Mooch, but I don't think he was equipped to evolve from it. I don't think we had the right organizational pieces involved for that rebuild either, and without some of those sketchy transactions, careers may have been much different.//

I'll always have love for The Franchise, regardless of being choked out by my dude _Stak5, dumbing champagne on himself in the club to "Drunk in Love and even reminding me of the "Finer Things."

Steve was a heck of a player.

McGrady doesn’t deserve to have his jersey retired. Let the Magic claim him. He was a disappointment as Rocket and was a poor leader and teammate. I honestly try to block out his time as a Rocket.

Francis loved the Rockets and was loyal. That goes a long way to me. Still his time on the Rockets wasn’t exactly the best time to be a Rockets fan. He also wasn’t all that great a leader or teammate either.

Not really feeling any of them honestly.

The Rockets win a title in the next few years and Harden and Paul both need to have their jerseys added. I don’t care if Paul is a Rocket for two or three years. If he wins a title, he gets added like Clyde did.

It’s fine to hate him for the way he went about it and how he quit on the team, but I never understand why Tmac gets so much hate for electing for microfracture surgery. I don’t think anyone would risk a potentially career ending surgery (in this case, it did end his career) if it wasn’t absolutely necessary.

Les Alexander firing Steve Patterson was incredibly dumb and Hiring Carroll Dawson in 1996 was even worse, especially giving expensive contracts,to bad player Kelvin Cato, okay player Maurice Taylor. Not resigning Hakeem. Because of the Cato contract. Trading younger Sam Cassell, Robert Horry for old, overweight slow Barkley. 1 good season that's it, passing Seattle. Carroll Dawson is Tals Hill with that banner.
