Jeff Van Gundy has fallen out of love with Moochie Norris after singing his praises during training camp. Even though Norris lost 30 pounds in the offseason, he still isn't the kind of point guard JVG is looking for. It surprises me that the Rockets weren't more interested in Rod Strickland, who's wasting away on Orlando's bench.

    ===========================

Just as most fans expected, Moochie is too slow for the NBA games..

JVG has encouraged Mooch early on and given him some PT to see what was "under the hood".

He's figured out Moochie brings absolutely nothing. You're right, we do need a veteran backup PG in the worst way....plenty out there, should be doable.

Thank god. Most of us have been out of love for Moochie for a long time.

I can't believe that it took JVG to realize this. He didn't see that when Mooch is in the game, our whole team falls apart? We need to cut Mooch and cut our losses, its time for the Moochie Norris era to end in Houston.

JVG was hoping Moochie could do PG. He did not see SF as a true PG.

I think the biggest mistake of JVG is so far that he had too much love with Mooche for such a long time going into the season.
But can he just dump the overpaid backup PG to nowhere? I doult.

Why not? If he has his back against the wall, he should have the right to make moves at his wish. If we lose tonight by a big margin, this tells a lot how bad of a team we are. And it has aleady been more than 20 games. Does it take JVG a full season to evaluate this team? I don't think so.

The only thing we're missing from a realistic shot at the championship is a true, capable PG.

I hope JVG is trying to give Mooch more playing times so other teams would have the interest of doing a trade for him.

Unfourtunately it's having a opposite effect. The more PT he gets the more other teams keep losing interest.

Tim Hardaway? He can at least provide some valuable experience.

Yes, Moochie is horrible...I like the idea of JJ as a point forward, and have him alternate on the position with Steve (altho he's not a PG either), and just give Wilks some spot backup minutes...

    Would Portland do this:

    Moochie
    Trade exception

    for

    McInnis
    Patterson

I think it's a good trade for Portland in terms of $$$ and cleaning up their image. For us, we get another SF who can play the 4 at times, and a good PG who can run a team without constantly turning the ball over.

That's just ludicrous. It's his horrible play that will stop teams from bidding on him, not JVG's doghouse.

LOL. Who can trust Aldridge? He said Damon Stoudamire is a Rocket some years ago.
