Man that sucks I like KP a lot. One of my favorite guys to watch that doesn’t play for the rockets.

He’s a very hard worker and breaths basketball so I’m sure he’ll be back stronger than ever and quicker than ppl think.

If he was putting weight on it like they say maybe it wasn’t a really bad tear and he can bounce back quick like deshaun Watson.

Horrible news. He will miss a good part of next season too so the Knicks are looking at two more years of tanking.
And their pick this year is not good enough.

Has anyone noticed that like all ACLs recently happen during January- February?
Perhaps the ASG should be moved up by a few weeks.

Recently? Yes, because it is February.

Historically? No, that is not the case.

Dunno. Didn't someone start a thread this year because everyone was blowing their legs up on opening day?

I only know of Hayward on opening day and it was a broken leg.
Yeah for sure but just an observation.

Though..perhaps the characterization of "freak accident" and all "due to luck" is probably due to our lack of adequate research on the underlying causes.

There has been huge progress in treating ACLs so hopefully soon we can have ways to prevent them.

He was complaining of fatigue a few weeks ago and his stats showed. Even FT%. Got hammered a bit by the media for it (the complaining, not so much the stats).

Damn this really sucks, he was playing so well and just starting to embrace the role of being the man. I hope he has a solid recovery and comes back better than ever

Gotta find ways to land properly. Gotta build up those landing skills.

Those skills are worth potentially millions of dollars.

I've only watched the sequence once, but I'm pretty sure his left foot landed on Giannis' foot, causing KP's ankle to turn inward. Which I guess caused a chain reaction that tore his ACL.

Hard to practice not landing on people's feet, especially with all the traffic in the paint. And it's not like KP was in a natural shooting stance, shooting a wide-open 3.

Really sucks that he's out for the season.

He'll probably bounce back like regular people who tear their ACLs.

This isn't a broken foot like Yao, nor a torn achilles like Boogie. An ACL tear as a season-ending injury is hardly a kiss-of-death, in today's world.

    Sad news.

Yeah, they should practice landing like paratroopers do. Then we'll have articles like this. "Today, another NBA player limped out of practice from landing wrong during Landing Skills training."

actually, I agree with you. Being light-footed is a skill...like a dancer. Poor Unicorn landed on Alphabet's foot, in this case. So sad.

You can't expose the side of your body towards the direction of your jump like he did, obviously, unless you're going to have enough momentum to swing your body to turn your back towards the rim at the last second.

If you're going to jump like that, then dunk with two hands to brace the impact and land on your feet when you feel like you have some clearance.

If you can't do any of those things, then just go for a plain layup so that you can clear the ground in front of you since nobody was ahead of you.

I'd much rather see that than seeing him attempt a dunk like this.
