I'm a bit weary about getting rid of Ryno this season (atleast). He's been inconsistent yes....but the past couple of games he's shown why he has a place on this roster and perhaps a championship roster this year.

When he is ON and taking 3s, there's no one I'd rather have than Ryno at his position this season. The chemistry's already there. Just hate to disrupt something for the detriment of the team.

That is best case scenario. I could see trading him for two players and only one is expiring, and the other has either less years or dollars. Then Houston has to pull off the same kind of trade at a future date but with a smaller contract.

 

Along with RobKsports, please do not post this if you don't understand the CBA. We are not looking for cap space with Ryno. Even if we gave him away for nothing we would still be over the cap next year. Ryno's only value to us is his contract in trades that have one or more years after this one. We cannot trade FA in the offseason for LBJ or any other star so expirings are worthless if your goal is to use Ryno's contract to get something else.

Honestly don’t think this info even needs a source... it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize they are trying to get rid of Anderson. Everyone in the league knows this.

 

We will hear the birds chirp tomorrow and a lot more noise on Wednesday. let’s see who we get.

Not sure how desperate they are to unload a worthless Faried contract. At least Anderson can provide a big man that's a three point threat outside of Jokic, at times Lyles....

Trading Ryno is like some poor salesman going door to door selling a 9600 baud modem. Going to be hard to find takers.

 

Harden's contract is 30 mil
CP3's cap hold is 35 mil
EG's salary is 13.5 mil
Tucker's salary is 7.9 mil
Nene's salary is 3.6 mil
Capela's cap hold will be 3.4 mil
Troy, Chinanu, and Zhou combine for 4.4 mil

They will be at 98.4 mil. Explain how 98.4 mil is over the cap of approx 100 mil....

And that's before CP3 likely signs a deal for less than his cap hold value.

Honestly, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that we want to get rid of Rynos salary. Morey has always been obsessed with making a splash in free agency. I don't see us trading Ryno though.

CP3's cap hold is 39M. Capela 7M cap hold. Ariza's cap hold is 12.8M. Also roster spots. So yes over 101M. Again, you are making my point if you honestly look at this and the CBA. Rockets want to be able to what they did with CP3 this summer. LBJ goes to Cle management and says he will sign with Houston. Houston has the ability to create space but not their goal (everybody has to crowd into space). As soon as that happens, Cle is left with losing LBJ for nothing. Only then do they agree to a trade for picks/players. If we make the trade, we keep virtually the entire team with LBJ and go into luxury tax. We need LBJ to opt in, SNT puts hard cap on us. Ryno's contract is the tool that enables us to acquire players above the cap through trade outside of minimum FA signings and taxpayer MLE.
