My bad. It was me. I lost interest in the Thunder schadenfreude and hadn't checked this thread in over a month until a couple of days ago. Now, the Thunder are back to losing again. I promise it won't happen again. Too many folks here need their fix.
Contend or pretend. The 3rd place is up for grabs. Spurs are shorthanded and Timberwolves dun have the experience.
I’f you replace Harden with Westbrook The Thunder are the 1st seed right now. Rockets would be lucky to be top 4. Not a deserving MVP.
IT always comes down to that for me Switch the two . . . and Harden's team always comes out better Rocket River
It wouldn't have been close. Harden as your primary with Oladipo, Kanter, Adams gets you a top 4 seed. Westbrook is the most overrated player in the NBA.
Harden can not win WITH ALL THOSE SNIPERS and his kid unfriendly heard. WB's triple double streak would extend to 100 games. You haven't seen that before....historic!
Still plenty of people on social media will pipe in how horrible harden is on defense and Russell is elite because he makes constipated faces while waiting for the rebounds to come into his lap. If it's one thing RW is MVP at is turning the media from against him into standing in his corner. That guy used to get shat on until KD ran out of town.
Harden wasn't a team win first player when he got here. It took him time to grow into that role. The thing that worked out well in our favor, Harden was given his own team at 23, and had plenty of time ahead of him. Not to mention a skillful and usually smooth game that should deal with aging fairly well. Westbrook was 28 when he finally had a team that was truly his, and he's still playing like an individual star that wants to be noticed, not a player that has a team win first mentality. I think he will grow out of this, but by the time he does he will be over 30, and I do not think his fire and brimstone style will age well at all.
Harden was always a team first player or he never would've accepted coming off the bench in OKC. It just took him a little time to get used to being the man here.
And Harden didn't exactly have the greatest roster when he first got here. Even when they landed Dwight, his insistence on being fed the ball in the post didn't compliment James' game. Capela is a much better fit for him at center.
Why do you say that? Harden has taken trash Rockets teams to the playoffs every year he has been here.
A lockdown defense with Harden driving your offense....Yeah. Westbrook had that team under performing the same he has this years OKC team. Looking at the Rockets and Thunder predicted record should have been a gimme for Harden MVP last year. The media totally ignored that which is incredible.
