Possible title instead of a guaranteed one? Nah thanks. Even if we win one with LeBron, it'd feel strange to me. Mainly because everyone will act like LeBron won a championship instead of the rockets. That's the bron effect
This is so dumb... we play to win titles... if you can ever get a title you take it... nothing is promised in the future even with Lebron.
Id take a championship this year even if I had the knowledge Rockets would be in the lottery for the next 10...championships are rare, take it everytime!!!!
These hypotheticals never factor in what we'd have to give up to get him. You can sign players but not chemistry. This team has the best chemistry since the championship years. Let LeBron do LeBron and I'm cool with riding with this core group for the foreseeable future.
The whole idea is to win the title. If you are good enough to win it outright now....then win it now. Add another PF, who is a substantial upgrade to Ryan Anderson, this summer on the cheap.
Only way this is a question worth asking is if you include a caveat like "Win a championship this year knowing we won't get back to the Finals again for 20 years". As is, you take the championship without hesitation.
