I'm getting tired of Harden's And 1s not counting.

its actually made him a better player. he's started trying to score rather than looking for the call.

obviously he still deserves the call. a foul is a foul... but i'm happy with his adjustment.

 

Fix it? This is the result of the league "fixing it."

Need to accept it. You had old players and media personalities that targeted Harden HARD the last two years. Last year it was over the top. You had guys saying they wouldn't watch Rockets games because of the Harden foul shots. Silver heard the noise and stepped in and issued an edict. The issue is clear; Harden shoots too many free throws.

I don't care if they say it's changed leaguewide, we see it EVERY game where Harden gets screwed by this and the other team gets it. Tonight Speights about dropped dead when he didn't get a continuation call that Harden doesn't get anymore.

This is just the reality.

Refs and the league made a mandate this season. It is what it is.

I'm way more disturbed about the no calls . James will go to the lane and get ****ing hammered , but since he already has 10 ft's from being aggressive they don't call ****.

 

He averages more free throws than every player in the NBA. He averages more FTs than guys who take more shots at the rim than him. Please stop being such biased fans.

 

i don't follow this logic. so after harden gets more FTs than the league average should he just stop driving to the basket?

 

I think it's pretty clear that there is a problem w/ the rule if you can't enforce it effectively. If you don't want free-throws to be part of the game, then limit the number of free-throws a player can shoot or fix the rules for fouls properly.

This one rule is one of the reasons why players and refs can't agree on any of the calls. Lot of times, the calls are only outrageous because they're so ****ing inconsistent.

 

i'm glad they don't let harden get away with all of his ref baiting anymore resulting in cheap points. harden is way too good and doesn't need to play that way anyway. he is learning to play straight up basketball and it's simply beautiful. him and durant are the top 2 offensive players in the league.

 

next year they outlaw the step back/step to the side.....

Golden State Warriors are too OP, set illegal screens and get away with yelling at the refs.

Let’s implement rules to limit......James Harden.

 

Good the refs need to call this the same way the would in the playoffs, look how it made Durant develop past trying to just draw fouls (and mind you they were actual fouls).

 

Should be average around 23 FTA per night.

 

This is particularly frustrating to me, because haters act like Harden's been attempting an astronomical, unprecedented number of free throws per game. When KD attempts 10 FT/game over a season, no one calls him unwatchable. No one called Jordan unwatchable when he attempted 12 FT/G in 1987. Or when Barkley did it in 1988. Paul Pierce averaged over 10 FT/G in 2006, and this narrative never popped up.

And I refuse to believe that Harden exaggerates contact any more than other star players who shoot boatloads of FTs. He's just particularly adept at baiting the defense into fouling him, which annoys opposing teams' fans. He is so strong and skillful around the basket that a defender oftentimes needs to hack him in order to stop him, but now James gets punished for being so proficient. It's maddening.

 

If they want to change the rules that's fine, but it's BS it only applies to Harden

He had so many blatant 4 point plays that didn't count even thought he was clearly hit in the act of shooting

 

This hater comment makes no sense....the complaint was about not getting continuations that it seems most other players get in the league. The complaint is not his number of FT's. Your bias is clear.....and does not belong here....

 

I know I'm wading into dangerous territory... but I think Harden tries to sell to many calls... in my opinion... at times the officials may not give him the benefit of the doubt because he always trying to sell contact... no official wants to be fooled so you swallow your whistle...
