610 is only football they don't care about anything else especially if they don't carry it.

That's Josh's stick...sometimes it does get old, plus he's more into baseball/football. Only listen to the bottom line for any real Rockets discussion.

Pretty much listen to John and Lance in the morning but even then they don't talk much about basketball...

Don't get a chance to listen to Charlie but he used to have some basketball talk

I get what you're saying but Cleveland probably not mentioned as a bad team because they were actually a very strong team when healthy. They had just lost Harper to injury iirc and duing that span, the Cavs were on or off depending if Price was healthy. Even during that 69 win game, the Cavs won 43 and pushed the 1st round series to a decisive game. So i guess Cavs aren't looked at as a bad team compared to a team like the Magic because they had that same nucleus that could win 55+ games when healthy and they did 3 times in 5 season during MJs prime.

The failing badly part is just exaggeration. MJ put up monster numbers with a bunch of no name bums against the Bucks(Moncrief 2xDPOTY, Terry Cummings (ROTY and just straight beast during those years/ Presley(all around stud) while MJ was a rookie, then the prime Bird Celtics 2 years in a row and then the Pistons 3 years in a row. In all, other than the Bucks, that's 5 straight playoff series against 3 championship teams and 2 that were a single game away from winning it all. Very easily could be 5 straight championship teams that knocked out MJ without another All-Star(Pip did make the all star game that last Detroit Championship team and the Bulls nearly beat them in the ECF but Pip didn't play in Game 7).

Anyway, we don't have to bring others down to appreciate our own stud in Harden. It's getting tiresome how todays NBA fan does that so regularly. Anyone who is upset at their favorite player not getting recognition immediately triggers hate towards other stars, especially from the past. So Harden isn't an ESPN/Media fave...even though he's got the trademark look, the personality, the commercials and shoe deal and an LA guy...maybe there is a hate for all things Houston and were not paranoid?
Maybe it all started when Hakeem tore out all of NY/media fans big market hearts in 94 or when Hakeem and Drexler, and role players bombing 3's completely embarrassed and swept the media darling young dynasty with the 2 once in a lifetime future hall of famers to be and the next Magic and Kareem duo? So many shoes sold, so many commercials about Lil Penny with Chris Rock, and the fun goofy giant in Shaq with his video games and commercials and movies, all for nothing when a quiet Muslim African born player and a laid back balding goober from Houston. Maybe the media will never forgive us for taking away 2 incredible selling stories from them?
Or maybe Harden deserves a lot of the hate and doubt he's brought onto himself? Maybe an empty Toyota center on nationally televised games is what the media sees and decides it's not a big story to sell like the crazy exciting Russell Westbrook running non stop at full speed and getting massive triple doubles in front of a packed and roaring crowd in comparison to Harden drawing fouls in front of an empty crowd(this is what the general NBA fan sees).

In the end, of course the NBA will talk about LeBron if his team is doing good or bad because he's LeBron and already top 3 of all time in most peoples eyes. Of course the NBA will talk about the 2 MVP, 4 all star studded Warriors because it's one of, if not, the greatest team assembled in their primes. It's probably going to take Harden going down bleeding and putting up monster battles in a 7 game series against the Warriors for the media to finally change the narrative on him and respect and show him and his team love.

As of now though, to us Rockets fans...Harden might go down as the most underappreciated MVP candidate superstar career ever next to Moses Malone. That's why Harden sent goons to beat up Malone Jr. He's a reminder of Harden himself one day being forgotten and rarely mentioned among NBA greats. :O

ESPN doesn't care about the Houston sports market, they never have.

    Pure fans know this.

A disproportionate amount of power is given to the media to shape public opinion, given that they are the very definition of a profession of mediocrity, nor are they elected to such a position of influence.

Thank You. I got 3 replies. Every one of them seemed to think I was serious. The Warriors only have 2 less losses, and 3 more “all stars”.

Not sure if this was meant to be a sarcastic thread....but it was talked about -a lot- tonight. As excited as I've seen ESPN get for Harden. I certainly agree that overall the media tends to stray away from Rockets talk as a whole, but tonight they were all over Harden, finally in a positive way.

This shows that Skip Bayless is better than his cheap replacement Max Kellerman at trolling
